Biography
Joras is an arcanaborn born of incredibly unstable magic. Some powerful circle of mages (perhaps Jixaron) in some other reality attempted to use all of their realm's magic in an ultra-powerful abjuration spell to close the Fall of the Eclipse. Their spell failed but as a result Joras was somehow created on the main timeline as a byproduct. Their form was immediately unstable and nearly going to explode in some burst of abjuration magic, but before that happened Joras contained themself in the plate armor of a fallen soldier. They made their way to Jixaron and cried out for help. They were brought to Arch Smith Lingot and Melith Mathesen, who worked together to replace the soldier armor with one made of materials they were researching, and added arcane enchantments to stabilize Joras' form. They would continue to improve this armor based on what was learned from Melith's XV Armor, and the moon elf technology they were given. During this process they learned that Joras was given the abjuration knowledge of every mage that cast the spell that became them. The timeline of those mages may be doomed without any more magic, but Joras lived on and because of that felt an obligation to share this abjuration knowledge. Joras joined Jixaron and began to teach abjuration right away. When they weren't teaching, they were researching new ways to protect themself and Jixaron. Their knowledge being the combined knowledge of all of a world’s masters, despite being new they made a good candidate for Archmage of Abjuration when the Council of Archmagi was reforming in 1764 ADW. It was a contested position that the Council debated over, but in the end it went to Joras.
