Greylanders
In the year 1670 ADW, a minor rebellion began within the Thenalion Empire, between the ruling party of High Elves and the oppressed Wood Elves. This oppressed group had been pushed into a corner from laws, the way they were treated, and how their traditions were considered invalid in the eyes of the ruling party. The Wood Elves formed a rebellious group that represented their ways and traditions, including all the other Elvish groups that were also oppressed. This group is called the Greylanders.
The rebellion was mainly unsuccessful. The ruling party of the Thenalion Empire swiftly crushed the Greylanders, and in a show of utter strength, unleashed a dam of water onto a rebellion-controlled city, creating a dangerous swamp known as Anila's Bog. However, peace treaties were made in the year 1672 ADW to end the feud, and include the oppressed groups in the new expanse of the empire. From then on, the rebels were appeased and the bloodshed ceased.
However, this did not stop tensions. No formal apology was made for the flooding, and many still uphold the traditions of being Greylanders, in spite of this treaty. These traditions include keeping close to nature, revering old and forgotten gods, and celebrating different holidays.
While the old Greylanders have since mostly faded, a new faction uses the same name, but only as a face. This new group, established in the year 1702 ADW, are mainly a group of Shadar-Kai, seemingly attempting to restore this era of rebellion, but through terroristic acts. Old Greylanders dismiss this as only a criminal organization using the same name, and spitting at the old ways.
This new faction have been the villainous group working against the Boogeypeople, the adventuring party in the Thenalia campaign, set during the year 1702 ADW.
