Radiant Subrace Details

Those that find themselves inflicted with radiance have an overabundance of light within them since the explosive death of the light eater. These individuals no longer function like normal living beings and biologically function more like The Necrolestial Body. However, due to their body not being able to handle this kind of hunger there are issues this can cause for the body.

Bright Burn Blood Your blood is brimming with light, your blood glows brightly and is very warm to the touch. You are immune to disease and radiant damage however you are vulnerable to necrotic damage.

Glowing Physicality Your heart beats much faster than it should, this doesn’t affect you negatively however. Additionally, your skin can emit up to 30 ft of bright light and 30 ft of dim light, your inner body parts such as your mouth or organs have a faint glow to them. Your body is always warm to the touch and no matter what you do you are always unable to feel the sensation of cold. In any temperature you find yourself feeling as if you are basking in the light of the sun.

Main Race Choose another race besides this one, which must be humanoid. You are a member of this subrace and your main race. Your size, height, and movement speed are the same as a typical member of that race. If your Main Race has subraces, you can select one

Dwindling Light Thanks to the stress the light puts on your body, your body’s physical aging process is accelerated. As you age your body will physically age by 3 years for every 1 year that passes. This makes it possible for you to have a much shorter life span for members of your race.

Unending Hunger Due to your body burning through a lot of energy to produce light, you get hungry for light every 5 hours. You must eat light within an hour of getting hungry or you will gain a point of exhaustion for every interval of 6 hours. This doesn't happen if you are asleep as all the light in your body turns off when you are asleep or unconscious. You can eat light that is within 10 ft of you as a bonus action.

Languages You can you can understand the light binary language which is interpreted by flashing lights. You also know any language your main race grants you. If your Main Race has a trait that precludes speech (such as a kenku’s Mimicry), you are still not able to speak and instead gain access to the relevant trait of your Main Race that substitutes speech.
