Arachnie Race Details
Arachnie are large spider like creatures that live deep in between the surface and the underdark, deep in the sewers of Gothica. There exists a kingdom of arachnie that have taken over the ruins of Old Gothica.
Ability Score Increase Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and your Charisma score increases by 1. Alternatively, you can choose your stats lineage style (Choose one of: (a) Choose any +2; choose any other +1 (b) Choose three different +1)
Age Although arachnie reach physical maturity at about the same age as humans, the arachnie understanding of adulthood goes beyond physical growth to encompass worldly experience. Similarly to elves, an arachnie typically claims adulthood and an adult name around the age of 100 and can live to be 750 years old.
Alignment Arachnie from Old Gothica are intensely militant so they lean strongly toward the gentler aspects of order above all else. They often value power and their time between the Underdark and the Surface has made them vicious and dangerous. So Arachnie are more often evil than not if they aren't from Old Gothica. Those that are tend to be neutral.
Size Arachnie range from under 7 to over 8 feet tall and have slender builds and large abdomens however the females are always larger than the males. Your size is Medium.
Speed Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision Accustomed to the darkness of the underground, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Quiet Predator You have proficiency in the Stealth skill.
Fey Ancestry You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Trance Elves don’t need to sleep and with an elvish background neither do Arachnie. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
Pestilent Command Your time of ruling over other arachnids and small bugs allows you to command them. You know the Infestation cantrip. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for this trait.
Spider Climb You can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Web Walker. You ignore movement restrictions caused by webbing.
Ungainly You cannot ride a mount, however you yourself can be rode as a mount.
Languages You can speak, read, and write Common, Elvish and Undercommon.
