Nadeem Val Kalrath

Drow, AKA ‘God Queen Nadeem’, ‘The Bloodied One’

Appearance

Nadeem is described as a short, robed figure in priestess robes strewn with gold cloth. She wears a large golden mask which obscures her entire face. It's believed that beneath the mask and robes, Nadeem suffers from a horrible skin disease which makes her extremely sensitive to sunlight and air. It's also believed that she is like this due to a curse which forces her to endure all the pain each and every Drow suffers. Nobody has laid eyes on Nadeem's bare form.

The Drow

Nadeem is the high leader of the Drow Empire of Val Royeaux. Beneath her are loyal advisors and generals that have sworn their lives to her service. Her people worship her as a lesser holy figure, one they believe was born from ichor of Lolth herself. Nadeem rules the single largest, most populated nation on the continent of Faerus which spans a significant amount of land not just in the Conclave, but the Underdark. Where early Drow lived in chains or in fear of their masters, and one another, Nadeem called all who would listen to unite against the hatred. That a people as persecuted as the Drow had only to stand together in the face of their enemies to survive. Nadeem's people are almost fanatically devoted to her, going as far as building monuments and idols in worship of her.

Backstory

The Seven Year War

The story goes that Ygrid Ironborn sought out Nadeem on a week long expedition through the Underdark. Once Ygrid found Nadeem, she bowed in recognition of the sole ruler of the Drow. It was all Nadeem wanted in exchange for the full, unbridled might of her armies. Once victory was achieved Ygrid gave Nadeem a seat at the table of the Triumvirate where she remains to this day.
