Backstory
The Priestess
Maria was the oldest daughter of Hector and Luizia Sandoval, beloved meat merchants/butchers, and dried goods purveyors of their town. Maria was a very quiet, reserved, musically talented girl that could be found playing her cello out in front of her family’s store. Of all the people she saw go in and out, she grew closest to Aestra Thorin, telling stories and singing along with her. Maria’s quiet life was ultimately upended when her town was shelled during the start of the Merchant Conflict. In the wake of this horrific tragedy, Maria was discovered by the Raven Queen and Ashbringer, and the course of her life was forever changed.
Campaign 2, Guns for Hire
Maria met the party when hiring them for a job in which she needed to be escorted to delivery a satchel of gold she stole from the Fist Fighters gang, to an orphanage. Maria demonstrated odd, often feral behavior and moral judgment. She also displayed powerful necromancy and the belief that the party would make perfect followers. In a bid to gain a large enough following that she could prove the Raven Queen’s doubts wrong, Maria joined the party on their adventures.
