Biography

Necropolis was born in the Conclave. At a young age he left to join a traveling band that was passing through his town. This band would become known as The Greatest Band of All Time. The members all ended up going exclusively by their stage names. The Monochrome Martinet was the lead singer and frontman, Necropolis Blownapart played the bass guitar, Apocryphal Espadrille played the drums and made the band's instruments, and Dystopio Smashedtobits played the piano. As the band toured over the years their popularity slowly grew. When the popularity began to fade back down, Inga and Esika Stormcaller, two horn players who were a failing act themselves were invited to join the band, and the band's popularity grew once again. Their fame continued to grow and they began to perform at bigger and better venues, even planning a world tour.

Just when they seemed like they were about to break through to fame before beginning their tour, The Martinet announced that he was leaving the band and starting a solo career. And he did, and his solo career took off and The Martinet became a household name. Meanwhile the Greatest Band's popularity immediately dropped, no matter how many replacement singers they tried. It was harder and harder to find anyone to book them. Soon the Stormcaller sisters left to return to Jotunrath. The three that remained had no choice but to go their own ways, looking for work. Necropolis want to a place he'd heard about when planning their tour, Ravenloft, with the hope of impressing the local lord and being hired as a resident bard. Perhaps his boldness was amusing because somehow Necropolis was given an audience with Strahd von Zarovich. He was hired, but as less of a resident bard and more of a minion. But it was work, good enough for now.

One Wintershield while Strahd was away, Necropolis and some of Strahd's other minions, Zahir Mors, Mark, and Sekkusu Blackpyre, were dealing with Strahd's pet rat Theo who Zahir had accidentally killed. They cleared out all the rats in the castle's basement and found one that looked the most like Theo and replaced him. Shortly after, Strahd's brother Sergei von Zarovich and his girlfriend Tatyana arrived unannounced. He declared that they were staying for a few days, and once inside began planning a party that he conscripted the minions to help him throw. He invited Asmodeus, Mephistopheles, Baalzebul, Zariel, Levistus, the Raven Queen, Omerók, and Kelemvor. Necropolis saw the opportunity of all these influential figures in one place and decided to perform some music to impress them. He learned that Zahir and Mark were also musicians, and the three formed a band they would call The 9-Teen and performed for these fiends and gods while Sekkusu socialized with the guests.
