'V'Ark's Backstory'

The "Vile Darkness." A disaster that occurred around the world. No one was prepared for what happened, and the Clan Reavers were no exception. The fights were brutal, and the war saw Clan Reavers unwavering resolve continue to rage. Over half were laid waste along the battlefield that became of Undaris, and in the ashes a new generation of Reavers were born. Among them was a half-orc boy named V'Ark. An orphan due to the war, V'Ark grew up in the Crucible of Clan Reavers traditions. Daily sparring, mental training, and survival teachings became second nature to V'Ark as he had nothing left in the world, and by the age of 7, he became the youngest true warrior in the clan earning acknowledgement from those around him. At the age of 9, V'Ark was placed in a Clan Reaver squad known as "Sleepless" where he met 2 people who would make a significant impact on his life. Dusgaar, a 16 year old boy aiming to be the youngest captain in charge of his own battalion one day, and Rin'Ya, a 14 year old girl looking to unite the receding Reaver Clan and reestablish it's foundation. During their time in "Sleepless", V'Ark had his first experience of what a family is like. With Dusgaar being his combat rival, and Rin'Ya being the unmatched brains in squad, the three of them swore kinship with one another on V'Ark's 15th birthday, also pledging to Rin'Ya to help grow the clan back to its former glory. As a few years went by, the 3 of them went from inseperable to not having time to meet one another in order to make this goal they set feasible. All of them gaining new titles and achieving greater things in the Reaver Clan. Dusgaar achieved his dream and became a captain after submitting a challenge to one of the thousand captains in the clan, and succeeding in combat against him. Rin'Ya became Lead Strategist and was praised as having the brightest mind in Clan Reaver. As for V'Ark, at the age of 20, he trained even further and became the youngest chief commander in the entire clan. a position reserved for the top 100 warriors gifted in weapon proficiency and combat. Their efforts finally started to seem like they were paying off, until Dusgaar's battalion went missing on an excursion into The Drowned Den. Afraid of what could have happened to their clan brother, Rin'Ya immediately made plans so V'Ark and his brigade could look for his trail. She charted all possible routes, rendezvous points, and defensive positions in case V'Ark found himself in a dangerous situation, and after a brief goodbye with Rin'Ya, V'Ark set off toward The Drowned Den. Anxious to what could possibly await him there. After a few days, V'Ark arrives at the last known campsite for Dusgaar's battalion, and immediately ordered his brigade to search the area for clues as to where they could have gone. The search persisted for a few hours before a clue was found, and without a doubt just an hour away from the campsite there were signs of a massive battle. V'Ark grew a massive pit in his stomach, at the possibility of something happening to his Clan Brother being significant. V'Ark ordered a new search to begin around that specific area for any more clues and in some luck, one of the many mages in the brigade was able to notice signs of magic being used in a certain area to cover tracks heading further into The Drowned Den. V'Ark seeing that as a break decided to move everyone deeper in with night fast approaching. When the sun was no longer visible in the sky, V'Ark ordered his brigade to set up camp in an opening just off the forest trail they were following, but he had no intentions on stopping himself. He informed his most trusted units to gather a few hundred elite with good vision to move with him under the cover of night, and have the rest of the brigade try and catch up after a short rest. After gathering the few hundred elite, he continued deeper on the trail. A few more hours in V'Ark saw just beyond a collection of massive trees, a concealed base with all sorts of different smells and lights coming from it. The base seemed to have few guards posted on the outside, but he had the feeling that there were many more inside. V'Ark told his men that he was going to stealth invade the base to look for Dusgaar. Warning those that would follow him from then on that most likely death awaits. Yet all of them continued. V'Ark created a plan to overwhelm the base guards posted by using the massive trees as cover. Slowly they watched their movements and then after some time grabbed each one by one til none of the guards posted remained. Realizing that will probably set off an alarm in the base, he orders everyone to move quickly and quietly to where they saw the lights and where he could locate the smells coming from. As they all go in, V'Ark slowly realizes that the base is vastly bigger than what it looked on the outside. Only further building anxiety as to what awaits deeper in. as all of them approached the end of the first hall, they were greeted by a massive door. With some confidence, V'Ark gets the feeling that this is the right door and that there was no need to go further, and as he opens it his suspicions were proved right in the worst conceivable way. All beyond the doorway and further into the massive room everyone including V'Ark could see Clan Reavers being mass experimented on in all types of ways. From people who lost all their body parts, skin, and eyelids and being hung by hooks attached the muscles in the flesh of the shoulders, to some people having body parts of multiple people at once in the most deformed way possible that they lost all humanity. Almost in a daze V'Ark walks further in looking at everyone and hearing the screams as if they all stepped into the Shadowfell. V'Ark did not stop looking even once. All the grotesque horror that was presented he absorbed it all. After doing so he spoke only 4 words that everyone that followed him understood, "release them from suffering". An overwhelming feeling took him over as he walked toward the closest hanging Clan Reaver one he could not fully word. He drew his weapon none the less and with a quick stab to what was once a head, the hanging body was still. Those who could still move after what they witnessed followed suit to what V'Ark was doing, as to release their comrades. Many had tears in their eyes, but V'Ark kept going to the next one. The feeling to an unknown word to him burned deeper and deeper with each fellow Clan Reaver that he ended. Moving at an increasing rate, he burned a picture of every one of them. Faster, and faster he moved along and no one is able to keep up. The fire that is burning in him was driving him mad. He could not understand the feeling until he found Dusgaar. The burning feeling, that he could not understand finally a word to match the feeling. "Desperation." V'Ark completely halted himself with full recognition of who he was looking at. His brother who watched him grow up, who he fought, created a pact with is no longer. Dusgaar's body was growing parasitic mushrooms and plants everywhere on one side of the body, and the other side of the body was dripping off as if it completely rotted, and yet he was not dead. Just like the rest of them who were still living a hell they can't escape. With V'Ark still collecting himself Dusgaar spoke V'Ark's name. Almost with hope V'Ark moved closer to hear his brothers words. "Kill me." V'Ark's mind went blank in disbelief about what he had heard him say. V'Ark could see into Dusgaar's body, and notice his only lung is struggling to collect air to speak again. Dusgaar repeated himself with a tear coming out of the eye that remained. That time V'Ark could not bare to see him continue. Steeling himself before his brother could take another breath, he completely

decapitated Dusgaar. V'Ark dropped to his knees in front of Dusgaar's still corpse and screamed at the top of his lungs. "If there is any god out there I will give anything, everything, just grant me the strength to kill all these bastards! My life is forfeit, do what you want just please let me kill them all!" His statement shook the room, and V'Ark filled with a desperation he had never felt before looked up only to be struck harder than he had ever been in the past and proceeded to blackout. When he came to, the room was finally quiet, his comrades finished off the remaining members of the battalion so no one would suffer anymore. In almost a daze V'Ark only felt pure anger. Anger that could cut the room. Speaking with an almost intimidating tone, he told everyone "fall back and regroup, once everyone is here we are laying waste to all of them." Without waiting for a response he moved past everyone out of the door with haste and continued toward the exit. Everyone in tow looked at the deep bloodied marking that stretched V'Ark's back, but no one spoke. There were extra footsteps coming from inside the base toward the exit approaching them. V'Ark unfazed continued at the same tempo, and as he made it outside he ordered a few people to go inform everyone to meet at that location fully prepared for battle, and after sending them off he turned around to meet the ever growing sound of footsteps from within. Weapon drawn, his men followed suit, and after what they had all witnessed inside, every one of them craved blood. When the moon was at its highest V'Ark and his elites began the battle and held off the mysterious group until daybreak when his brigade arrived. At the end of it, V'Ark was covered from chest to toe in a mix of him and his enemies blood. With only one thing on his mind after interrogating one of the survivors of that mysterious group named The False Grey Landers, V'Ark received a name. The Collective, a rabbit hole that The False Grey Lander knew nothing of yet spoke a name as if it was widely known. V'Ark had to understand who these people and how they were related to The False Grey Lander's. When arriving back to the clan V'Ark went straight away to tell Rin'Ya the news about Dusgaar, and how he plans to avenge him, but she was gone. Only a note remained that detailed, " I heard what happened with Dusgaar, and I plan on travelling around like our nomad ways to clear my mind, and I figure you're going to try to avenge him, but I can't lose you too. It would hurt too much.when I re-adjust my thoughts we can look into honoring his memory together just don't die on me until then ok? Lastly, don't worry about me, I'm smart enough to fend for myself or get myself out of any situation. See you later V'Ark." V'Ark once again alone, had a new goal. In Dusgaar's memory, V'ark embarks on a new journey to learn about "The Collective" and use the power god gave him to bring about their destruction.
