Within the draconic lands of [[Quelxiros]] are the '''Dragon Guard,''' a unit of highly trained special forces tasked with protecting the cities from danger. Not much is known by outside scholars of this unit, only that they incorporate magical knowledge and draconic traits into their training.

Only one unit of this mysterious guard is known by many military historians. The '''45th Cavalry Dragon Guards''' is well known among historians as one of the greatest, yet most mysteriously-appearing units in history.

During the year 980 ADW, as [[Shogrush]] and his armies began to fall to the combined might of the newly created [[Alliance]], an unknown unit of Dragonborn soldiers came to fight in the [[Battle of the Free Lands]]. During this battle, the [[Free Orcs]] were giving resistance to the '''Alliance''' armies who thought they would be allies against '''Shogrush.''' The '''45th Cavalry Dragon Guards,''' as they called themselves, swept through the entirety of the '''Free Orcs''' and their guerilla armies and utterly crushed them. This small unit was only 200 strong, and completely destroyed an army made up of 1,000 soldiers, and utterly blindsided them. This unit was never to be seen again, but the '''Alliance''' armies used this as a push against '''Shogrush,''' eventually pushing him into the capitol city.
