==History==

[[Alison D'naugerat|The Death Queen]]'s [[planemeld]] was not entirely successful, but not entirely unsuccessful. The undead siege of [[Sandstone Harbor]], the search for phylacteries, and even the defeat of Alison herself were suitable distractions—the connection was kept open long enough for some entities to pass through. One important entity slipped through unnoticed, however. An entity so ancient that Alison had no idea they existed, nor did [[Shogrush]]. An entity who was tied directly to the negative energy of the negative energy plane, and could only escape it through powerful magic forming a connection on the plane itself. An entity that the [[Shadowfell]] was created, in a time before gods, to contain. Once on the [[Sivurn|material plane]] it was easy to pass through a mortal's feeling of vulnerability into their weapon.

On the material plane, the holy army of [[Valanor]] fought Alison's army of undead as the [[Stank Bitches]] ascended the tower. But in one of the fights, a gnome paladin named [[Oleander Oldwane]] was having doubts. He used to be a throne room guard in [[Mississippi]], before the city was returned from the [[Nine Hells]] and he took an oath to protect people. But when he was down there, [[Domahas|Lord Domahas]] spoke to him, offering him power if he stopped the Stank Bitches from rescuing the city. Oleander denied him at the time, but now as most of his squad was being slaughtered by zombies he heard Domahas' voice again. Offering power, in exchange for the lives of his squad mates. In that moment of doubt, that moment when Oldwane forsakes his oath and agrees to a pact with Lord Domahas, the dagger he reaches for changes. It becomes a twisted blade of bluish purple metal.

The desecrated remains of the members of Oldwane's squad, the other squads in his platoon, and many of the priests from Valanor were later found arranged in a strange pattern in the snow amongst the formerly undead corpses. Oldwane himself proved harder to catch, as the ship he used to leave the battle was sunk before arriving back in [[Baelrum]].

Oldwane was found months later by [[Dea]] with the assistance of [[Ganneth|Archmage Ganneth]]. He seemed different. Not only physically, being entirely skeletal at this point, but mentally—he was serious and driven by some unknown purpose. In his right hand he clutched his dagger in a tight fist. Dea, [[Thalon]], [[Rahim]], [[Ygrid]], and [[Wardrix Mississippi]] went to go fight and capture him. Oleander attacked, and Rahim countered by cutting off his arm holding the dagger. When he did, the skeleton immediately clattered to the ground, whatever was left of Oleander Oldwane dying with it. But the severed hand still tightly gripped the dagger, which none of the party's strength nor magic could separate it from. The dagger and skeletal forearm was brought to the vaults of [[Arpaton Circle of Magic]] for safekeeping, and Oldwane's remains were brought back to Mississippi.

The dagger and attached hand remained in Arpaton's vault for many years. It seemed to remain there untouched for years, even after it was moved with the other artifacts Dea and the other wizards took to [[Jixaron]]. It wasn't until years later, long after Dea left the plane, that the dagger in Jixaron would be revealed to have been an incredibly convincing fake. The forgery was created by the same wizard who stole the actual dagger, [[Azia Tashir]].

Azia was always interested in the boundaries of the arcane, and she was always paranoid about being confronted about this, a fear perhaps stoked by her upbringing in [[Al-Harim]]. She had already moved to [[Thenalia]] (where arcane laws were much more lax) and joined Arpaton Academy as a professor, but she wanted to push the boundaries further. In her free time she perfected the art of making forgeries of magic artifacts, and over the years stole some of the most dangerous artifacts from Arpaton's vault, replacing them with her own copies, doing her own research under the noses of the other wizards without them ever knowing. One such artifact was the dagger with a skeletal hand attached, that they called the "Oath of Oldwane". It was a mystery to everyone in the school, which is exactly why she wanted it. As much as she studied it, however, she could never unlock its secrets. Until one day they were made clear.

Dea and many of the other wizards left for this new venture of "Jixaron", and those who refused to go along halfway across the world were left with nothing. [[Grubble]], the uneducated goblin, was named Head Archmage, and the Thenalion Empire was putting more and more pressure on the Academy, obviously looking to take over. Azia had enemies in the Empire. She would never tell anyone about it, or give any detail, but she did not want the Empire to take over the school. If that happened, she was sure she would be out of a job at the least, if not in prison or executed. She had a past that she wanted nothing more than to get away from, and found the relatively independent-but-powerful Arpaton Academy professor life to be exactly what she wanted. She didn't want to give it up. She couldn't. When panicking over what to do, the forever-tight grip of a skeletal hand holding a dagger on her desk loosened. Azia picked up the Oath of Oldwane, and saw her distorted reflection in the twisted blade.

The financial ruin that Head Archmage Grubble put the Academy into is commonly cited as one of the reasons the Arpaton Circle of Magic was vulnerable enough to be taken by the Thenalion Empire, but the Head Archmage's lack of experience was far from the only factor. There's the brain drain of most of the top mages leaving for Jixaron, there's the increased competition from [[Meadowcraft Academy]] in [[Calvastus]], there's the changes going on in the Thenalion government, etc. But the factor that the Thenalion Empire perhaps wishes it could forget is what was briefly called the "Arpaton Massacre", when a crazed necromancy professor named Azia Tashir seemed to snap, and started slaughtering her fellow wizards with a dagger. Nearly a quarter of professors and a third of students who were present at the Academy at the time were killed, and the perpetrator escaped the scene. It was a bloodbath, and Arpaton Circle of Magic never fully recovered from it.

Like Oldwane, Tashir also evaded capture. It was later found that she was involved in the ritual slaughter of an entire village in [[Tortoran]], where all members of the village—men, women, children, the elderly, everyone—were sacrificed using the Oath of Oldwane, and [[Mordrek Tashir|their blood used in some profane ritual]]. The bounty the Thenalion Empire set on Azia Tashir was one of the largest the nation had set in recent years. A skeleton walking through the wastes, wielding only a dagger, soon became a legendary bounty among the region's bounty hunters. Azia managed to fight them off for years, dozens of the most experienced hunters being killed with this simple dagger, and the bounty only grew and grew. They found her to be serious and driven by some unknown purpose. Eventually a legendary bounty hunter ended up catching her off guard, shooting her shoulder and breaking off her dagger arm from the rest of her body, killing her. Her skeleton, arm and dagger included, were sent back to Thenalia in a wooden casket. A large chest full to the brim of platinum was sent back to Tortoran.

[[Amalica Taliandra]] was the youngest daughter of [[Almalexia Taliandra]], the matriarch of the wealthy and powerful [[Taliandra family]]. She was still a child, only in her early 20s, but she was already planning for her future. Taliandra was an important family, and she intended to live up to her family name. She would go into politics, or something. Maybe she'd even lead Thenalia one day. The specifics weren't important, she was just ambitious! She was always getting involved in the family's business, unlike her mother who seemed almost ashamed of her family name lately. She was there the day the big wooden box arrived at their family estate, the one her mother had spent tens of thousands of gold on. Not only was it expensive to transport, and to have someone dig up, but a lot had to be spent to pay off the family, the local authorities, and the local press and gossips. Exhuming the grave of a former professor of Arpaton Academy was a big deal, especially when that professor went on to be a notorious serial killer. Almalexia quickly had the casket brought into her private study and locked the door behind her. Mother had become so private over the recent years, and now she wouldn't even let Amalica see the dead body.

Amalica's curiosity simply wouldn't let her sleep until she investigated. Late at night when her mother and father, her siblings, her grandparents, all were asleep, she sneaked through the family's mansion. In the darkness she crept past all their doors to her mother's private study. Even before her mother grew so reserved Amalica was never allowed in here. But now she had her own set of lockpicks, and was finally going to sate her inquisitive nature. The lock easily fell open after a few soft clicks, and the door gently welcomed Amalica inside.

She crept into what looked more like some kind of wizard's laboratory than a study, with arcane scrawlings far beyond what Amalica could understand, written on scrolls hanging all around the room. Cast off to the side was the big wooden box, now open, revealing the contents. A bed of long-dried straw, and resting on it the crumbling skeleton of a human, missing its right arm—broken at the shoulder. Cautiously approaching, Amalica peered over into the box. No arm. Looking around the room again, Amalica saw bone white over on her mother's desk, and crept over to get a closer look, careful not to step on anything that could make a sound. The skeletal hand gripped tightly a dagger made of some strange purple and blue material. Amalica had never seen anything like it. The hand and dagger were sitting on a pile of papers. A [[Court of Wolves|distinct-looking wolf stamp]] on one of them caught Amalica's eye, and she realized they were letters.

A closer look revealed a correspondence between her mother and some sort of Court. At the top of the pile was the most recent letter, a solemn demand that Almalexia execute the plan, ensure that she is the last of the Taliandra name and she will be greatly rewarded. Amalica's heart began racing. She shuffled through some other papers. Her mother had been planning it for a long time, and she was serious about it. She was going to kill the whole of the Taliandra family, Amalica included, and meet with some contact in [[Englara]], bringing them this dagger, which Amalica suddenly found she now held in her hand. If she had picked it up subconsciously, she soon realized why when she heard the deep click of the office door closing behind her.

Amalica froze as the slow footsteps approached behind her. A tense hand, shaking with anger, landed on her shoulder. As Almalexia began to speak, not even a single word left her mouth before Amalica in the blink of an eye swung around and sliced clean through the unsuspecting throat of her mother with the Oath of Oldwane. Almalexia grabbed at her throat as blood gurgled out, her knees buckled and she collapsed to the floor, and with a start Amalica realized what just happened.

Amalica began to hyperventilate. She was a murderer, guilty of matricide. She had killed her own squad leader. No, her mother. What? Why did she think that? She was in her mother's private study with Almalexia's blood on her hands. Or was it that bounty hunter's blood, pouring through her hands into the sand? No! She was Amalica Taliandra. Wasn't she? She held her head in her hands, but didn't let go of the dagger. She was a novice illusionist, trying desperately to remember the incantation for Silent Image before the crazed professor Misty Steps in front of her and stabs wildly. She felt like she was going to throw up. She was a sea captain, gurgling as the sea water mixed with his own blood after the skeleton ran by, cutting his throat. She was a necromancer from Al-Harim and later Arpaton, sacrificing cultists over some [[Ether|octahedral obelisk]]. She was a priest of [[Waukeen]], who lost his husband when Sandstone Harbor was attacked and went to Valanor to join the fight, being stabbed in the gut by a gnome with a skeletal arm. No! She was AMALICA TALIANDRA. She was both sides of every death dealt by this weapon. She was every final moment of pure agony of every victim. She was the embodiment of death itself, of the finality of all things. She was the end.

By the time Amalica came back to her senses, she was sitting alone in the mansion's central parlor, her body exhausted, drenched in blood. Several mutilated corpses were strewn about the room, including her father and two of her brothers, in barely-recognizable states. Things were silent except for the persistent dripping of blood somewhere in one of the many halls. She was the only living creature remaining in the family's sprawling mansion. As her heartbeat slowed, and the initial shock of her surroundings passed, Amalica looked to her hand. It was fiercely gripping the hilt of the dagger, tight to the point that she could see the bones in her hand through the skin. She sat there in silence, with a blank expression, for a long time. What else was there to do? There was nothing left. Her life, her family, her future, it was all over. She was the last of the Taliandra name.

She wandered through the halls of the estate, examining the scene of the massacre, making her way back to where it started—Almalexia's private study. Amalica looked again at the pile of letters on her mother's desk. Englara, Burning Pass region. Burning Ghoul Tavern, "shot of Ghoul, stronger than a Wolf". Wiped from the minds of all. Amalica's actions didn't feel like her own, nor did her thoughts. She read the paper. She got up. She moved, leaving the family estate, walking in the direction of Englara. Did she want to join up with these people who wanted her own mother to kill her? Not really. But her mind was beyond "want" by this point. Her ambition was dead, replaced by something else. She was serious and driven by some unknown purpose. Not by her own mind, but by something in her hand.

===Backstory===
Koi was born in the [[Sage City]], the child of [[Gerron Ana'koi|Gerron]] and [[Josha Ana'koi]]. He went to the [[Apex of Innovation]], an elite artificer academy taught by [[Magistrate Bolt]]. Here he befriended his classmates including [[Aldin Thorin]], [[Zofia Atmos]], [[Derevi]], and [[Aronil Shimmerene]]. After studying [[the void]], he also developed two apex innovations while at the school, the [[Deadfall Tether]] and [[Void Link Inciter]]. Koi would continue to work at the Apex with Bolt for well over a decade.

Koi was contacted by Magistrate Bolt and met with him and [[Inquisitor Nale]] at the Inquisitor's Hall in [[Shanlume]], where he met [[Krauss Fortice]]. The two of them would travel to [[Undaris]] to oversee the safety of the prisoners at [[Commander Romulus]]' camp being moved to the [[Mines of Rot]] and investigate the missing supply shipment. The prisoners were successfully transported, but the next morning Koi and Krauss found that [[Lieutenant Dust]] was a traitor and soon after the camp was attacked. [[Olyver Embers]] and [[Sira]] escaped in the chaos. Koi, Krauss, and Romulus took the remaining prisoners ([[The Red Blade]], [[Veteneris]], and Dust (who would die on the way)) to the southern camp, where [[Skaad|the remnants of the Boogeypeople]] were being retrained.

Koi and Krauss joined with the survivors of the southern camp, which was also attacked. After hearing that they saw Aldin and Zofia as their enemies (to varying degrees), Koi decided to stick with the party. They began by investigating [[Inquisitor Orin]]'s room in the [[Inquisitor's Hall]]. There they found the body of the actual Inquisitor Orin and his journal about [[Ranolan Eluxiam]] taking the throne and the [[Burning Umbra]], which Koi realized was connected to the judge [[Phelorna]]. After this, the party went to the Hall's library to learn more. Here V'ark found a book of madness, which should be kept in the [[Inquisitor's Hall#Vault of Madness|Vault of Madness]] and accessible only to inquisitors [[Rya]] and [[Certis]]. The next day the party was joined by Rya, Nale, and Bolt and descended to the Vault, only to find it was being broken into by [[Maverick Moonveil]] and the [[Cobalt Brotherhood]]. They followed the tunnels left from the intruders and found they came from [[Castle Benevolence|a fortress in the underdark]] that the Colbalt Brotherhood had taken over. Nearby, the party was offered respite from a gold dragon inkeeper named [[Glitz]] who once ruled that fortress and wanted to retake it. After resting, the party and Glitz disguised themselves and infiltrated the castle. They cleared out the vault, retrieving three of the books and several magic items including [[The Siphon]] which Koi would later use. Koi sabotaged a teleporation circle where copies of cursed pages of a book stolen from the Vault were being sent to Shanlume and [[Quelxiros]]. The party regrouped and teleported out and back to Shanlume, only hours before the Inquisitor's Hall exploded.

Ygor is short for an elf at 5'2". He has yellow eyes and elvish features from his snow elf lineage, part of the [[Vectress family]]. Wild magic turned Ygor's skin bright blue, then again shifted it to more of a navy blue, then orange. He had black hair and for a while a thick full beard, the result of Ygor's [[Belt of Dwarvenkind]], but he shaved this after he was decapitated. None of this can be seen, however, since wild magic made any part of Ygor not covered by clothes appear skeletal. He usually wears his [[Suit of the Scion of Unyielding Chaos|purple suit]] (given to him by [[The Eclipse]]), dark aviators (given to him by [[Pelor]]), and combat boots (given to him by [[Azure]]).

====Backstory====
Ygor was born hundreds of years before the campaign as a snow elf, part of the [[Vectress family]] in [[Evermest]]. The family was looked down upon and mistreated by the townspeople of Evermest, which Ygor responded to by robbing the manors he was hired to clean. [[Simadilim Vectress]], Ygor's older sister and a schoolteacher in Evermest, formed a plan for the family to get revenge on the town as she studied dark magic. Ygor was hesitant about this plan, thinking it seemed too drastic. A few years earlier, also met [[Lion Lorelit]], who had come to Evermest to extend his court's reach. Ygor was the only one to recognize him as a vampire. Upon agreeing to keep this a secret and help him if he can, the two became allies, then friends. Over the next few years, the two would keep a correspondence, and grow closer. When Simadilim enacted her plan, killing the older students and raising them as undead then charming the younger students as child soldiers to attack the town, most of the Vectress family had to flee. Lion invited Ygor to join him in the [[Shadowfell]] and Ygor accepted, joining the [[Lorelit Court]] and becoming a vampire himself. He would live as part of the Lorelit Court for many years before breaking ties with them, stealing a bunch of stuff (including the [[Chalice of Blood]]), and fleeing back to the material plane.

Ygor spent many years wandering the material plane. He would go from town to town, mooching off people, scamming, and stealing where he could. He is also a gambler. At one point, Ygor placed a large bet on [[Sengir Ironbeard]]'s forces winning the [[Battle of Fargan]]. He lost the bet. At the time of the [[Battle of Osisris]], Ygor forged the will of [[Catalina Chak]] and left the [[Fort Fargan#Chak Manor|Chak Manor at Fort Fargan]] to him, which Ygor subsequently lost in a card game.

Several months before the campaign began, Ygor was cursed by a hag to be unable to lie. Because this left him without an income, unable to do the only job he knew, he decided to join the [[Cardinal's Reach]] in [[Aakarii]], [[Wuxia]].

====Meat Squad====
In Aakarii, [[Haruto|Shogun Haruto]] organized the new recruits to Cardinal's Reach, including Ygor, [[Autumn]], [[Arphazel Beelzazel]], [[Zarkor]], [[Drake Greystone]], and [[Pancho]], into a team that would become known as [[Meat Squad]]. They would soon be joined by [[Ali]] and [[Hina]]. They began their adventures in Wuxia, investigating the [[Doku family]].

Meat Squad's adventures would take them all over the world and beyond, to [[Calvastus]], [[Al-Harim]], [[Undaris]], [[Duzgredar]], the [[Realm of Ice]], [[Tortoran]], the [[City of Styx]], the [[Vile Dimension]], the [[Moon]], the moon of [[Scavath]], and the [[Stranded Realm]]. Over these adventures, [[Sorhea Serothis]], [[Kara]], [[Aziel]], [[Rozin Hiexel]], [[Sunrise]], and [[Lyrith]] would also join the party.

When fighting the [[Jade Empress]], Arphazel was killed. After this Ygor adopted her pet Slitherstole that was left behind, naming it [[Pilgor]]. He also started wearing suits, having [[Lapsac]] tailor Arphazel's suits to fit him.
On another mission in Wuxia, [[Jaing Chak]] was nearly killed after being crushed by an avalanche after being knocked unconscious. In an effort to save his life, Ygor drained Jaing before he died, turning him into a vampire. Jaing would remain a vampire until he sacrificed this curse to activate the portal to the [[Terror King's Realm]] in the [[Corvid Estate]] basement.

Ygor has won two duels. The first was against [[Fake Michiya]], who forfeited the duel by not arriving. The second was against [[King]] in the Undercity of the [[Clockwork City]], using training pistols. Unbeknownst to King, Ygor cheated by subtly casting some spells on himself before the duel.

In the City of Styx, despite Ygor's apprehensions about it the party decided to walk into [[Graz'zt]]'s trap, thinking they could defeat him there anyway. It went horribly wrong, and Ygor was beheaded by a demon and killed. While Ygor was dead, Aziel was killed and turned into a demon. When Ygor was revived, the party did end up killing Graz'zt and rescuing Aziel.

Along with the other members of Meat Squad, Ygor trained in the Stranded Realm with [[Volatar]] and gained an understanding of [[ether]] and an etheric connection, allowing him to use some ether abilities.

On 26 I'semna 1764 ADW, after Meat Squad defeated [[Annihilation]], Sythus opened the [[Fall of the Eclipse]]. Meat Squad and the Eclipse used this to travel through time to gather [[Hunter Hex]] and [[Terror Panik]], but on the third attempt Sythus pulled them out of time. They talked for a time but eventually Sythus attacked, and they fought, Meat Squad ultimately being victorious. Ygor died near the end of the battle, however, but Autumn made a deal with the [[Raven Queen]] to trade Sythus' soul for Ygor's, and he was saved. The next day they traveled to Hunter Hex's timeline and killed Sythus again there.

Sunrise then asked the party to help him find the [[Undarian Three]]. The next morning ,during a fake assault on a fake [[Collective]] base in Undaris organized by [[Inquisitor Sylkress]], Meat Squad found a hidden actual Collective base beneath an observation post in the [[Borderspine Mountains]]. In the base they rescued [[Doc]] and his parents (as well as [[Simon Reign]]) but freed [[Aklidos]] in the process. After this, the members of Meat Squad would go their separate ways.

====Early Memento Mori====
[[Lamni Armorpha]], [[Seol Ikamuzu]], [[Frites Magnifique]], [[Ignatius Nonqu|Ignatius "Iggy" Nonqu]], [[Ramaiah Sagasson|Ramaiah "The Ram" Sagasson]], [["Igor Vextress"]], [[Miyuki Viceron-Serothis]], and [[Forget]] joined the [[Shade Scare Order]] of the Blackguards at their sanctuary on Ryngot's Island in [[Stormclaw]], [[Quelxiros]]. They completed the Trial of Lord Kyrir and were inducted into the Blackguards, celebrating afterwards with a trip to the Golden Apple Brewery and the Starlight Market. The next day they met with [[Edmund Gray]] who told them about the infected dragons returning from [[Sythus' realm]], and the party went up to the [[Hatchery of Zot]] on [[Quelzonos]]. To clear the hatchery of [[Thorn Rot]], the party killed the infected creatures and burned down the hatchery, along with all infected creatures and plants within, and the surrounding forest that the thorny vines reached into. For this successful mission, the members of Memento Mori were given the title Dragon Guard and citizenship in Quelxiros.

The next day they teleported to Tortoran and left with [[Captain Dryden]]'s [[Shadowscales]] to the [[Gorge Lord's Burrow]], where the first infected dragon landed, to rescue [[Arthax Zythillon]] and retrieve Edmund's research. After returning, they met with [[High Guardian Joel]], [[General Crow]], and [[Dune Guardian Alex]] and planned a preemptive attack on the [[Ebon Fang]]. They take [[Titus Warborn]]'s airship until it was shot down, then [[Greyhide]]'s airship, to [[Dendarus]]. They drop in and Frites' drop pod is shot down, killing him. Lamni retrieves his corpse, and the party assaults the [[Serpent Eye Tower]], a walking mobile base used by the Ebon Fang. Inside, it was revealed that the Ebon Fang was working with [[Blood in the Water]] and [[The Collective]].

After returning, the party was teleported aboard the [[Cloud-Strike]], the airship of [[Brigham Weaver|Commander Brigham Weaver]], beginning the several-month journey to the front lines. During this time, "Igor" jumped from the ship, the party played games of truth or dare, bought magic items, and participated in several duels. Lamni dueled Miyuki, Memento Mori dueled each other, and Memento Mori dueled [[The Eclipse]] who was visiting and wanted to meet the party. Afterwards, the Eclipse invited Memento Mori to join [[Project Guardian]]. As the ship arrived in [[Wargrave]], it was attacked by a [[Dynast]] [[Siege Beetle]] and sabotaged by an agent of the Collective, causing the ship to crash. While trying to escape this, the entire party was killed.

====Wargrave====
The party (excluding Frites, including Arthax and Katya) awoke on the ground, revived by some unknown force, and continued their mission. They met with a group called [[Umbral Vigilance]] stayed with them for the night before leaving for [[Garen]], a village of deserters, to acquire vehicles. Frites, who was revived elsewhere, arrived with a tank crew and rejoined the party. He warned of Seol's patron, [[Plum]], bringing food and candy folk that are eating people to this plane. Garen quickly descended into chaos thanks to [[Bode|Captain Bode]]. Several Garen soldiers escaped with and joined the party, including [[Sapphire]] and [[Brenn|Pvt. Brenn]]. The party took a few vehicles and drove them to [[Ironlight]]. There they traded for the [[Valiant]], an air vehicle to head to the Project Guardian meeting at [[Blightgrave Crossing]], piloted by [[Kira|Captain Kira]].

They flew to Blightgrave Crossing where they met several other Project Guardian adventuring parties. They joined with some of them in battle before The Eclipse arrived and tasked the party with finding the [[Hounds of Doom]], a Blackguard party that went missing. They flew the Valiant to their last known location until it was shot down by Plum, killing Kira and all surviving Garen soldiers except Sapphire. Soon after they found [[Wyvern]], the one surviving member of the Hounds of Doom after [[Count Intheril]] went mad and killed the rest of the party before leaving to find an obelisk, declaring it to be a god. Wyvern joined the party as they rested in a nearby minefield bunker. The next morning, after Forget stepped on a mine, a chain explosion was triggered. Forget became an ether cyclone until Lamni grabbed him and pulled him back out.

The party, knowing that Plum was going to attack the city, continued on foot to [[Champion City]]. When they arrived and helped defend the city, [[Harbinger Menace]] invited them to join the fight at the [[Island of the Fallen]], a nearby island where the Ebon Fang stored weapons that Plum's forces took. During a Blood Feast before this battle, Sapphire raised concerns about Iggy, saying he pointed a gun at her face earlier. The party continued to the island and found missiles primed to launch at the material plane. Lamni was killed in the fight and revived by Forget, then dragged to safety by Frites. Iggy went to supposedly stop the missiles, but betrayed the party and instead launched them at the material plane while causing an explosion on himself that killed Arthax, Forget, Sapphire, and Wyvern. The remaining party then fought and killed Iggy.

====Post-Iggy====
[[Lyrith Fallen]], at the behest of the Eclipse, teleported Memento Mori back to Blightgrave Crossing. There the Eclipse, Commander Weaver, [[Meat Squad|some old adventurers]], and many of the world's leaders discussed what to do next with Memento Mori and the war. Lamni, as well as the rest of the party, was very mistrusting at this point. The party intensely. The Ram opened up about his past and brought [[Loki]] into the meeting. Frites had all of the party agree in his book to not lie to or hurt each other. In the end all of the party decided to stick together, and they welcomed [[Oswin Venator-Navita]] to join them. Katya reconnected with the party and inducted Oswin into the Blackguards. Afterwards they strategized with [[Sanguine Squad]] who would go after Plum while Memento Mori captures and interrogates [[Zul Netol]], a draren spawn leader in [[Cinder Moon]].

The party assaulted Soklas Manor and teleported Zul Netol to [[Darktip]]. Weaver was there along with Fated Few and Dangerous Destiny, parties formed by the remnants of the Project Guardian parties. They also met up with "Jack Steamfist", who claimed to be from the [[Armored Shells]], and joined the party. They interrogated Zul Netol and learned of a plan to use the [[Towers of Mourning]] to destroy the invading armies. All three parties boarded the Noble Shadow airship fleet to head to the towers to destroy them.

On the way to the tower, the fleet were visited by several plasma dragons, with [[Kartharagon]] meeting Memento Mori. Fights broke out on all the ships, causing many of the ships to crash, including the one Memento Mori was on. After the crash, "Jack" was revealed to be "Igor". Frites suddenly attacked the party then was consumed in a white light coming from his book, disappearing. "Igor" was taken back to the ship and Oswin arranged for him to be taken to the [[Groves of Eldath]]. The survivors all went onto one airship and continued the journey. That night, [[Nak Chak]] did exploratory surgery on Miyuki, and the party learned the dark ether nature of the flower growing through her. The parties separated and Memento Mori boarded arcplanes and flew to their tower. Once there, they fought a gray version of [[Sythus]] that was drinking from the ether well. They kill Sythus, blow up the tower, and fly back to the airship.

On the airship met once again with the Eclipse, Weaver and Katya. They spoke with the Eclipse and his contact, [[Volatar]], about ether, and about Frites' book which was actually the [[Eternal Tome of Unbound Chaos]]. Loki tells the party that Plum has Frites and the Tome. He also claims that a rift opened in Ironlight where food and candy folk are attacking from, which the party confirms. Weaver gave a briefing about the current state of the war. After Lamni questioned why the Order was here, Weaver said he just follows orders, which Lamni objected to. Katya tells the party she got them a ship, and the Eclipse teleported the party to Champion City to get it.

They met the crew and flew this new ship to Ironlight. Once there, Harbinger Menace tells them how to get to the rift. The party meets [[Ritz]] along the way and they continue with him into the [[Plane of Candy]]. They go to the village of [[Perilla]] and rest there. The next morning, they joined with the local [[Crimson Company]] and [[Silver Dread]] forces and headed to Plum's fortress.

In order to keep his kingdom from being destroyed by his enemies, he created pacts, deals and bargains with dark entities from all across the planes. Dark creatures, such as demons, devils, aberrations, and others would send powerful armies into the Material Plane at his behalf to control, with the promise of gaining portions of the world for their dark deeds. Shogrush then declared war on the world, and his army of darkness swept through the Material Plane, making quick work of any opposition.
 
 
Shogrush's massive, dark empire would last over the course of 400, long years. Shogrush would seek immortality through the process of becoming a Lich, and would create a species of Orc in his own splitting image. These Orcs would be called '''Shadow Orcs,''' or the "Sha'or." These Orcs, upon death, would instantly resurrect as unstoppable, undead soldiers at his disposal. Rebellions rose and failed miserably each time, with Shogrush and his forces only growing stronger. This army supported all species, races and creatures that wanted this utter evil empire to fall. It was no longer an Orcish empire, it was an empire built on blood and death. ==Biography==
Quintilius Ganger was the second-in-command of [[Zaran Orlef]] of the [[Banished Moons]], a faction of moon elves that were banished from and fought against the rule of the [[Moon Wardens]]. He lead the construction of [[Strange Cities|several settlements on Sivurn]] meant to be a safe haven for all, until the Moon Wardens attacked and destroyed the Strange Cities. When Zaran went all evil and wanted to invade Sivurn to protect it, Marble lead a rebelling faction against him. In a final confrontation on a dead world, Marble and Zaran fought and were both killed by [[Fake Volatar|Volatar]], the third leader of the Banished Moons (who was actually not really [[Volatar]] but a fake Volatar controlled by [[Sythus]]).

When Quintilius awoke on Sivurn in the mountains of [[Calvastus]], he had no memory of who he was, where he was, or what had happened to him. He didn't even know his own name. He also realized he was a sentient undead skeleton beneath his advanced armor, which he didn't understand. After coming to and assessing his surroundings, he traveled to the nearby village of [[Valenhomme]] where he was helped by the engineer [[Otis]]. Otis helped Quintilius with his armor and gave him his notebook, and Quintilius helped Otis with his aerowings. After seeing [[Zarkor#Jasper|Jasper]], Otis told Quintilius about [[Meat Squad]] and [[Cardinal's Reach]] and the renowned research library at the guildhall in [[Allum]]. Quintilius decided this would be where he'd go next to try to learn more about himself. He went to Allum and convinced then-guildmaster [[Wise-Sky]] to let him join the guild.

On his first mission, Quintilius was partnered with [[Luden Gan]], who gave him the nickname '''Marble''' based on the appearance of his white armor. They would be sent to investigate the [[Strange City]] of [[Thysalis]].

Marble would later join [[Meat Squad]] and adventure with them for a time.

A man pretending to be a wizard and businessman named Halaster claimed he could make all of Blue's wishes come true, help her family, and even get her her own ship. All she had to do was keep the ship's title somewhere safe, and then she could go pick it up in Sandstone Harbor. As Blue left for Sandstone Harbor, the thieves used the portal on the fake ship deed to steal everything in their family's safe, including the deed to Arkos' butcher shop. Blue found herself alone in Sandstone Harbor when she got the news, and decided she needed to save up the 5,000gp ransom the thieves were asking for to return the stolen loot.

She found the job listings posted by [[Tanner Stormcaller]]—a way to get money by fishing, which was perfect for Blue. After trying a few boats at the docks, she eventually found the Emerald Sails and waited aboard for Tanner and the others. They completed the Trial of Lord Kyrir and were inducted into the Blackguards, celebrating afterwards with a trip to the Golden Apple Brewery and the Starlight Market. The next day they met with [[Edmund Gray]] who told them about the infected dragons returning from [[Sythus' realm]], and the party went up to the [[Hatchery of Zot]] on [[Quelzonos]]. To clear the hatchery of [[Thorn Rot]], the party killed the infected creatures and burned down the hatchery, along with all infected creatures and plants within, and the surrounding forest that the thorny vines reached into. For this successful mission, the members of Memento Mori were given the title Dragon Guard and citizenship in Quelxiros.

The next day they teleported to Tortoran and left with [[Captain Dryden]]'s [[Shadowscales]] to the [[Gorge Lord's Burrow]], where the first infected dragon landed, to rescue [[Arthax Zythillon]] and retrieve Edmund's research. After returning, they met with [[High Guardian Joel]], [[General Crow]], and [[Dune Guardian Alex]] and planned a preemptive attack on the [[Ebon Fang]]. They take [[Titus Warborn]]'s airship until it was shot down, then [[Greyhide]]'s airship, to [[Dendarus]]. They drop in and Frites' drop pod is shot down, killing him. Lamni retrieves his corpse, and the party assaults the [[Serpent Eye Tower]], a walking mobile base used by the Ebon Fang. Inside, it was revealed that the Ebon Fang was working with [[Blood in the Water]] and [[The Collective]].

After returning, the party was teleported aboard the [[Cloud-Strike]], the airship of [[Brigham Weaver|Commander Brigham Weaver]], beginning the several-month journey to the front lines. They met with a group called [[Umbral Vigilance]] stayed with them for the night before leaving for [[Garen]], a village of deserters, to acquire vehicles. Frites, who was revived elsewhere, arrived with a tank crew and rejoined the party. He warned of Seol's patron, [[Plum]], bringing food and candy folk that are eating people to this plane. Garen quickly descended into chaos thanks to [[Bode|Captain Bode]]. Several Garen soldiers escaped with and joined the party, including [[Sapphire]] and [[Brenn|Pvt. Brenn]]. The party took a few vehicles and drove them to [[Ironlight]]. There they traded for the [[Valiant]], an air vehicle to head to the Project Guardian meeting at [[Blightgrave Crossing]], piloted by [[Kira|Captain Kira]].

[[Lyrith Fallen]], at the behest of the Eclipse, teleported Memento Mori back to Blightgrave Crossing. There the Eclipse, Commander Weaver, [[Meat Squad|some old adventurers]], and many of the world's leaders discussed what to do next with Memento Mori and the war. Lamni, as well as the rest of the party, was very mistrusting at this point. The party intensely. The Ram opened up about his past and brought [[Loki]] into the meeting. Frites had all of the party agree in his book to not lie to or hurt each other. In the end all of the party decided to stick together, and they welcomed [[Oswin Venator-Navita]] to join them. Katya reconnected with the party and inducted Oswin into the Blackguards. Afterwards they strategized with [[Sanguine Squad]] who would go after Plum while Memento Mori captures and interrogates [[Zul Netol]], a draren spawn leader in [[Cinder Moon]].

The party assaulted Soklas Manor and teleported Zul Netol to [[Darktip]]. Weaver was there along with Fated Few and Dangerous Destiny, parties formed by the remnants of the Project Guardian parties. They also met up with "Jack Steamfist", who claimed to be from the [[Armored Shells]], and joined the party. They interrogated Zul Netol and learned of a plan to use the [[Towers of Mourning]] to destroy the invading armies. All three parties boarded the Noble Shadow airship fleet to head to the towers to destroy them.

On the way to the tower, the fleet were visited by several plasma dragons, with [[Kartharagon]] meeting Memento Mori. Fights broke out on all the ships, causing many of the ships to crash, including the one Memento Mori was on. After the crash, "Jack" was revealed to be "Igor". Frites suddenly attacked the party then was consumed in a white light coming from his book, disappearing. "Igor" was taken back to the ship and Oswin arranged for him to be taken to the [[Groves of Eldath]]. The survivors all went onto one airship and continued the journey. That night, [[Nak Chak]] did exploratory surgery on Miyuki, and the party learned the dark ether nature of the flower growing through her. The parties separated and Memento Mori boarded arcplanes and flew to their tower. Once there, they fought a gray version of [[Sythus]] that was drinking from the ether well. They kill Sythus, blow up the tower, and fly back to the airship.

On the airship met once again with the Eclipse, Weaver and Katya. They spoke with the Eclipse and his contact, [[Volatar]], about ether, and about Frites' book which was actually the [[Eternal Tome of Unbound Chaos]]. Loki tells the party that Plum has Frites and the Tome. He also claims that a rift opened in Ironlight where food and candy folk are attacking from, which the party confirms. Weaver gave a briefing about the current state of the war. After Lamni questioned why the Order was here, Weaver said he just follows orders, which Lamni objected to. Katya tells the party she got them a ship, and the Eclipse teleported the party to Champion City to get it.

They met the crew and flew this new ship to Ironlight. Once there, Harbinger Menace tells them how to get to the rift. The party meets [[Ritz]] along the way and they continue with him into the [[Plane of Candy]]. They go to the village of [[Perilla]] and rest there. The next morning, they joined with the local [[Crimson Company]] and [[Silver Dread]] forces and headed to Plum's fortress.

Katya reconnected with the party and inducted Oswin into the Blackguards. Afterwards they strategized with [[Sanguine Squad]] who would go after Plum while Memento Mori captures and interrogates [[Zul Netol]], a draren spawn leader in [[Cinder Moon]].

The party assaulted Soklas Manor and teleported Zul Netol to [[Darktip]]. Weaver was there along with Fated Few and Dangerous Destiny, parties formed by the remnants of the Project Guardian parties. They also met up with "Jack Steamfist", who claimed to be from the [[Armored Shells]], and joined the party. They interrogated Zul Netol and learned of a plan to use the [[Towers of Mourning]] to destroy the invading armies. All three parties boarded the Noble Shadow airship fleet to head to the towers to destroy them.

On the way to the tower, the fleet were visited by several plasma dragons, with [[Kartharagon]] meeting Memento Mori. Fights broke out on all the ships, causing many of the ships to crash, including the one Memento Mori was on. After the crash, "Jack" was revealed to be "Igor". Frites suddenly attacked the party then was consumed in a white light coming from his book, disappearing. "Igor" was taken back to the ship and Oswin arranged for him to be taken to the [[Groves of Eldath]]. The survivors all went onto one airship and continued the journey. That night, [[Nak Chak]] did exploratory surgery on Miyuki, and the party learned the dark ether nature of the flower growing through her. The parties separated and Memento Mori boarded arcplanes and flew to their tower. Once there, they fought a gray version of [[Sythus]] that was drinking from the ether well. They kill Sythus, blow up the tower, and fly back to the airship.

On the airship met once again with the Eclipse, Weaver and Katya. They spoke with the Eclipse and his contact, [[Volatar]], about ether, and about Frites' book which was actually the [[Eternal Tome of Unbound Chaos]]. Loki tells the party that Plum has Frites and the Tome. He also claims that a rift opened in Ironlight where food and candy folk are attacking from, which the party confirms. Weaver gave a briefing about the current state of the war. After Lamni questioned why the Order was here, Weaver said he just follows orders, which Lamni objected to. Katya tells the party she got them a ship, and the Eclipse teleported the party to Champion City to get it.

They met the crew and flew this new ship to Ironlight. Once there, Harbinger Menace tells them how to get to the rift. The party meets [[Ritz]] along the way and they continue with him into the [[Plane of Candy]]. They go to the village of [[Perilla]] and rest there. The next morning, they joined with the local [[Crimson Company]] and [[Silver Dread]] forces and headed to Plum's fortress.

==Biography==
Melith and her twin sister [[Sylkress]] are the daughters of [[Berukos Darlight]] and an unknown elf. The two grew up in an orphanage in the [[Thenalion Empire]] until the two were adopted by the Mathesen family. Melith remained in this new life of nobility but Sylkress ran away. As part of this wealthy and influential family, she grew up around Thenalion high society and saw first-hand the corruption of the leaders of the Empire. When she was old enough, she was sent to attend [[Arpaton Academy]] (which the Mathesen family owns) and was taught magic weapon and armor smithing. After graduating, she left the Empire and instead joined [[Jixaron]] and moved there. She became the apprentice of [[Lingot|Arch Smith Lingot]], and would work with him on many projects including her own creation, the [[Prototype Xenovoltaic Armor]] based on moon elf technology.

When the [[Platinum Covenant]] attacked Jixaron, she joined the Planar Marines to help defend, joining the demolition team. At first she built explosives for soldiers to use, but as the invasion went on and numbers on the front lines were more desperately needed, she began joining the demolition team in a more direct way, going on missions to the front lines and into enemy territory. For her actions she would be promoted to the rank of lieutenant and be sent on a special mission with [[Azure|Major Azure]], [[Rosco Croppa|Captain Rosco Croppa]], and [[Cynder Vileheart|Captain Cynder Vileheart]], to investigate the hidden Thenalion base known as [[Den 26]]. The mission was a mixed success. The team explored the Behemoth Class Moon Walker, found the stolen [[Bastion of the Eye]] manuscript and destroyed the copies being made, uncovered a site where biomechanical "terminator" soldiers were being created, and gathered information on the Thenalion Empire's Operation Chokehold. However, the team was discovered and had to fight their way back to Jixaron, and Major Azure sacrificed himself to disable the Moon Walker and allow the others the escape. Shortly after returning to Jixaron, Melith joined [[Leonard Voke]] and the other representatives of the Planar Marines at the world meeting in [[Stormclaw]], [[Quelxiros]]. Here she presented her findings about Operation Chokehold.

After the world meeting, Melith was invited to join the [[Time Anomaly Task Force]] being recreated by Captain Rosco Croppa and [[Emileide Rothenel|Archmage Emileide Rothenel]] to return anomalies to their original timelines or convince them to help the world. Melith, along with [[Omac|Second Lieutenant Omac]], [[Oleza|Oleza "The Cardinal"]], and [[Jumbo Humungo]] teleported to the village of [[Goram]] in [[Jotunrath]] where they met up with [[Maribelle Blackpyre|Maribelle Blackpyre "Harbinger of Agony"]] to deal with an anomaly who appeared nearby and has been causing [[Order of the Forsaken Titans|violent fanatics]] to rise. The anomaly turned out to be [[Ivar Warborn]] from another timeline, who was trying to live peacefully with his wife in a remote cabin. After a peaceful yet tense encounter where Ivar seemed to be becoming more like his equivalent from this timeline, the team eventually convinced Ivar and his wife to return to Jixaron with them.

==Biography==
Blue Bleakrock was born and raised in [[Valanor]], the daughter of a tiefling butcher named Arkos Bleakrock and a water genasi cleric of Saranrae named Lillan. Blue was always naive and excitable and had a wanderlust for adventure. She was the perfect target for a scammer. A man pretending to be a wizard and businessman named Halaster claimed he could make all of Blue's wishes come true, help her family, and even get her her own ship. All she had to do was keep the ship's title somewhere safe, and then she could go pick it up in Sandstone Harbor. As Blue left for Sandstone Harbor, the thieves used the portal on the fake ship deed to steal everything in their family's safe, including the deed to Arkos' butcher shop. Blue found herself alone in Sandstone Harbor when she got the news, and decided she needed to save up the 5,000gp ransom the thieves were asking for to return the stolen loot.

She found the job listings posted by [[Tanner Stormcaller]]—a way to get money by fishing, which was perfect for Blue. After trying a few boats at the docks, she eventually found the Emerald Sails and waited aboard for Tanner and the others. She fell asleep there and woke up the next morning already at sea where she met the other employees, [[Aquina]] and [[Fluffy Reel]]. A few days later they arrived at [[Marrowhold]] where Tanner explained the job and they began fishing.

By 1785 ADW, Blue was part of the [[Armored Shells]], working as the butcher aboard the [[Tide-Turner]].
