Clymene
I have three main goals: to find adventure, find my best friend's father, and show that Wood Elves are more than the elves who hide |
---|
-Clymene's primary goals |
I'm tired of being useless, dammit! I... I need to do something. I got to be useful to them - I know my team probably hates my guts more than anything - I would too if I met myself. But... but I got to prove to them I'm useful, I'm trying so hard to get better... but more and more, I feel mom's right. I should have never left. Maybe it'd be better to stay home. But - but I need to prove to them that I'm an asset, not a waste. |

Clymene of Yulyu is one of the founding members of Croak and Dagger, a Wood Elf hailing from Yulyu.
Appearence
Clymene is a relatively short girl, standing at 4'8 1/2. She has amber eyes and dark green short hair thats always in a messy bedhead. Her primary clothing usually consists of a dark green camo-style tunic with a hood over brown shorts and matching brown gloves. These are worn beneath a traveling hood of the same camo color and matching shoes. Her ears are at the side and stand about 1 foot.
As a Rock Gnome, Clymene's skin pigment has become dark purple with silverish hair and brown eyes. Her ears are still as long as normal, and her clothes just shrunk.
Personality (Major WIP)
Clymene is usually quiet when she's in a new location, quick to study everything in sight out of curiosity. Because of this, she can seem mute unless speaking to her teammates or when someone speaks to her. This quiet behavior slowly broke as time passed, making her more vocal on her opinions. Despite this, she attempts to maintain an air of subservience to avoid conflict, even if she despises it. However, while she generally accepts being insulted and mocked, usually because its all something she learned to deal with, insults to her family or her people will make her spiteful and venomous, often plotting to see if she could find a way to exact revenge or even insult the person.
In the past, Clymene has also shown a great interest in women, mostly preferring physically powerful and dominant types and gained crushes on the likes of Hildr and Raiah as a result to the point of trying to show off and impress. Ironically, her flirtatious nature not only backfires, but gave her the reputation of a horndog and desperate casanova wannabe. She's also typically unaware of advances made her way, usually since she never had a person try to flirt with her beforehand (or so she believes). As such, she has been noticeably slow on the uptake and unsure of how to respond. She has worked to rid herself of this reputation, but is unsure if it ever will go away.
When it comes to combat, Clymene prefers sticking to the rear, trying to strategize or keep hidden while assisting her team. She views herself as the weakest of the group due to her low combat expertise as well as being only good in archery and no talent in swordsmanship or hand to hand combat. Despite trying to use her mind, rage can cloud Clymene's judgement, making her rash and impatient in an effort to end any fight as quick as possible, which has caused friendly fire before. In the past, Clymene's lack of skill has made her consider a survival by any means approach, which resulted in her contemplate fleeing when all hope seemed lost, even at the cost of her team. While this has become less and less common, she aims to try and maintain her survival instincts and follows a rule of sense, knowing when it's impossible to win and desire to simply live.
After incidents in the Underdark, Clymene has obtained bouts of depression and suicidal intentions (the latter which began to fade ever since the Cataclysm), usually hiding them the best she can to avoid worrying the party. This alongside regret and PTSD of running from her team when she felt they ignored her warnings and were in over their heads against Aela and run-ins with Vecna and even dying has left Clymene with a sense of despair that she needed to proof herself. Hiding her depression has gave her an ever growing sensation that she needed to prove herself a loyal teammate and worth keeping around. This has gave her fear to see her team in danger to hestrics upon seeing the death of Laura and Incineryn - upon the death of Barbatos, a brother to her, Clymene's desire to protect her team has become her only reason for surviving. This has extended to bouts of paranoia, such as not eating anything but a single scone during her time in the Conclave, and writing down to shop for arrows, healing potions, and teleportation devices for her and her team. This however, has clouded her judgement and made her even more impulsive after seeing that she caused the deaths of Gulak, Andol, and Maribelle, making her panic under pressure when seeing her friends in grievous harm to the point of abandoning plans to try and protect them or even break into old habits such as panic attacks and praying blindly, even when attempting to speak to her deities.
Due to her Wood Elf nature, she used to only sleep when the team does, and to enjoy the dreams of music from what she considers 'another world'. As a rock gnome however, this has gave her major bouts of insomnia and only sleeping for around 20 minutes to an hour a time, a mix of being unfamiliar with her new body as well as stress from the events around her has greatly enhanced this and caused her to panic and assume the worst in people as well. She hides this the best she can through a smile and jokes.
Clymene also has a strong aversion for confrontation, usually allowing insults to fly as long as it can avoid trouble. This has left her looking as subserviant as a slave, and with low self-esteem, its her only normal way to let people speak, refusing to express her normal opinions as long as it can allow her to avoid a potential fight or conflict that she'd rather avoid.
Clymene can still maintain forms of determination, aiming to restore her Wood Elf body rather than stay a Rock Gnome. As this, Clymene's depression and self-worth dipped, losing the speed she was proud of, as well as her normal cute looks and being unrecognizable to anyone.
She can also be quite religious, praying to the Five Gods of Yulyu's religion during times of crisis or worry, sometimes for others, sometimes for herself, or even ceremonial such as praying to the God of the Hunt to ensure a sparring match didn't go wrong, or to the Goddess of Souls for her real body to be hers again. However, meeting Kelemvor and Vecna, realizing they exist, yet not meeting her own Gods has likely placed Clymene in a crisis of faith, especially with her village's fate in bad hands.
As a member of Yulyu, Clymene has showed pride in her people, often viewing the Wood Elves of her homevillage as hated for reasons she couldn't understand and desiring to show their worth. Rather it was her shelted upbringing and years of being called a disappointment by her mother and aunt, or sheer poor luck however, with news of a coupe, her love for them - on top of how disrespected her team in general was, as well as the self-serving and uncaring nature of those from the Conclave and even from people she tried to help and literally died for, has made her misantrophic and more spiteful, hiding all her beliefs under a guise of extrovertedness has made her seem more open to others. She has gained a lack of trust for anyone not from her team or their closest allies.
Upon seeing Elvira's past however, Clymene's feelings for her village dampened quite a bit, worried on if she should truly care for it's fate, yet willing to save it.
Backstory (Spoilers and Major WIP)
Born in Yulyu as daughter to Atalanta and Chiron, Clymene was said to be very unordinary. She lacked major marks that'd show hints of greatness, and even her aunt said she'd likely be a hinderence rather than a legend, but with her heart in the right place. Growing up, Clymene would show a love for cooking, novels, and the arts, writing and singing mostly despite having no talent for either. Even in school plays, she was rather average with a lot of heart, but carried by her friends. (SPOILER INFO)
When she became 113, Clymene would come out of the closet to Atalanta and Chiron, while her father approved and supported her wholeheartedly, Atalanta became distraught and revered to her as a disappointment, even punishing her by having her sister turn Clymene into a newt. Upon realizing why, her sister returned Clymene to normal and the two had a serious argument. Scared that she's done nothing but cause stress, Clymene would begin to cause self harm and hide the results with her gloves, only more surprised to hear her mother apologize for the overreaction with bloodshot eyes. Forgiving her mother, Clymene would suffer the marks of guilt, becoming more determined to show shes useful and not at all a failure. With a decent circle of friends, she would focus on speed, becoming proud of her superior agility and despite lacking the affinity for greater summoning or magic, was capable of using her tools and knowledge of nature and stealth to be capable of graduating. However, her speed, tools, and stealth were all she had - as in terms of hand to hand combat, archery, and even strategizing, she was terrible. Enough so that Atalanta didn't join in the betting pool to see if Clymene can make the top 20. Clymene passed at near the very bottom of her class, barely graduating and losing touch with her closest friends, 3 of whom would be the top 10 of her year.
At 121, shortly after her birthday, Clymene would find a letter from Craig Firebrand, one man hoping to hire people for adventures. With her love of adventuring books, a desire to see the world, prove the worth of the Wood Elves, as well as find the father of her best friend - a dwarf named Freya Brunhilde, Clymene set off, ready to see the world and improve herself!
Equipment
Clymene carries three different bows: a shortbow, a longbow, and a special bow gifted to her from Elvira called The Long Night, which can envelop one in darkness, keep her stealthed, and fire psychic energy. Alongside these includes a mystic family dagger and a shortsword. She also carries 50 foot rope, menacles, a hammer, a tinderbox, torch, mess kit, waterskin, a bedroll, and a crowbar. Finally, Clymene has a Jaeger Corp cloak, which assists her camouflage as well.
Powers and Abilities
- Archery: Clymene's main expertise is in archery. Shes nimble and acrobatic, often able to land most shots even when in the heat of combat. She's also relatively clever and perceptive, and willing to plan ahead, but can be incapable of thinking on the fly depending on the situation. Despite being considered one of the worst archers of her class, her experience in various scenarios and battles has honed her skills, making her capable of going on even footing with Raiah.
- Chef: Clymene is a capable cook, able to make several meals in a short time. These can range from very good to average, but her specialty is Yulyu Special: Meat and Potatoes, which is basically poutine.
- Speed: Her claim to fame is not only in her speed - being able to sprint further than some of her team.
- Stealth: One of Clymene's other claims to fame is to seemingly disappear in any situation. Her stealth sometimes even makes it seem as if she's hidden in plain sight, often due to her interest in whatever else catches her eye.
- Eyesight: As a Wood Elf, Clymene's eyesight is superior to a human's, allowing her to see in the dark for up to 60 feet (18 meters).
- Longevity: She's also very long lived, as Wood Elves can live for over 700 years, she's only the age of a young adult to her people despite being 121.
- Resistances: Clymene also has resistance to charms and magic designed to render her unconscious or asleep. Plants capable of rendering movement is also less effective on her.
- Trance and dreaming: Clymene also lacks the need for sleep, as a simple trance or meditation for up to four hours can replenish her as well as a full eight hours. Doing so can allow her to dream, but she prefers actual sleep as it allows her to dream easier and sometimes see the other world.
- Magical Aptitude: Clymene is capable of allowing herself and those nearby to stand on any liquid surface, as well as set off a telepathic alarm. She can also negate poisons, create thorny terrain, conjure up a powerful wind, mute an entire area, or conjure feys to assist in combat.
- Conjure Woodland Beings: Clymene is capable of summoning various fey-like beings. Each in pairs. These include:
Sprites named Amy, Rouge, Aquamarine, Marie, Sona, Lin, Aya, and Phos
Pixies named Monica, Sandra, Jessica, Asuka, Dina, Rita, Ram, Winter
Blink Dogs named Iggy, Kiba, Reaper, Goddard, Snoop, Rad, Lapu, Momiji
A Sea Hag named Ms. Yaga
Naiad named Perse
Nereid named Doris
Dryads named Rose and Ivy
Quicklings named Sonic and Wally
Satyrs named Danny, Phil, Vito, and Goa
Alseid named Mr. Ed and Man O'War
Reflector named Jackson
As a Rock Gnome, Clymene lost her ability of trance and speed.
- Magical Resistance: Clymene has a minor resistance to abilities designed to attack her wisdom or mind. However, her low stats to begin with has made this almost a non-factor.
- Tougher Skin: To Clymene, her only advantage has been her slightly tougher skin in contrast to her armor being weaker
Relationships (Major WIP)
- Aiden Thorin - While surprised to see a noble join the team, Clymene instantly had trust in him - especially when he offered to help pay off debts. While she hasn't spoke to him often, seeing him and Raiah in a relationship has gave her great joy, seeing Raiah have somebody to love, and to see Aiden have sommeone she considers not just attractive but immensly powerful. She does sometimes ship him with Andol however, and finds his werewolf side to be adorable. - Or rather, she did until seeing Malar. She now fears Aiden moreso.
--"I want to scratch his werewolf side behind the ear... but Aiden himself is so cool even without it. He's too nice to be a noble."
- Aileen Locket - As a friend who lost Barbatos, Clymene became determined to assist Aileen, preferring to keep her alive as a way to make up to being the cause of Barbatos' death. During the events of Hell however, Clymene became more and more caring and worried for her mental being. As of the Halloween event, she looks at Aileen as a friend, willing to assist her and hopes to make the dwarf smile. Her feelings towards the dwarf confuses even her, as she wants to see her blush, but also wants to see her give a true smile and even considers her cuter than herself. As time passed, her feelings would evolve to a crush - and resulting jealousy towards her being flirted with by Samantha Harper.
--"I made a promise to myself to protect her since she's a friend of Barbatos. Although, I can definetly see she doesn't need that. By Hades, she saved my ass multiple times now. She's a good friend too!"
- Andol Thorin - Finding him odd yet interesting, Clymene began to see Andol as sort of a friend with a great deal of zeal and an aura of trust. Despite this, there are times where she has found herself falling for his charms, much to her own confusion. Ever since Wintershield, she has been thankful to know that while she feels she could never repay him for the countless times he has helped her out of the goodness of his heart, that she can tell him that she is always thankful to him.
--"Andol's a super trustworthy guy! Easy on the eyes, but also hyper competent. If he offers to help you, you best believe that you won't regret it! He's such a lover boy for Lyra too."
- Atalanta - Despite being somewhat a disappointment most of her life, Clymene has a great deal of respect and love for her mother. The mutual feelings often becomes why Clymene has a feeling she has a home to come back to. As family is greatly important to Yulyu culture, Clymene is no different, often ready to prove herself and make her mother proud - but also to make her proud by accomplishing her own desires. Despite this, Clymene has only been told shes been loved by Atalanta roughly 3 or 5 times in her entire life. Clymene has been quick to mention that this is only because Atalanta is unsure as to why she should state the obvious.
--"My mom is rather... old fashioned at times... but she's willing to do whatevers best for the village."
- Barbatos - Originally, Clymene was intimidated by Barbatos, not being familiar with half-orc outside of rumors. Being near him in early adventures quickly warmed her to him enough she viewed him as a friend and eventually, thought of him as a brother. As such, she would be more crass and taunting towards him, even trying to hook him up or joke on eating his summon. Their bond grew overtime enough that upon Barbatos' death, it became a major blow that even Incinaryn and Laura's couldn't match. The fact he died protecting her was the biggest blow to her, making Clymene despise herself more than ever, and making her desire to protect the only friends she have left the only priority. But most of all, to protect his best friend: Aileen. This made Aileen a momento to her, to try and protect the last reminder she has of the half-orc she felt deserved better.
--"I never got to say goodbye... if I could apologize to him forever, I would."
- Bill and Ted - A semi-regular costumer, Clymene met them when trying to rent a dress for the casino. After failing to meet payment due to being dragged on another adventure, but saved by Andol to keep her knees, Clymene views the goblins as overworked for their multiple jobs, but also a migraine to deal with. This doesn't mean she won't have a conversation with them and admires their hard work - even if their methods are bizarre.
--"'Hello, hello!' Those words... I still hear them when I so much as look at a shop now... they need to go on a vacation."
- Chiron - Her father, the more open of the parents.
--"Father always was a good natured person. When I had no date to the dance, he took me to Hera's Nightshade for my first ale instead. Mom chewed him out all night for that."
- Elvira Windhelm - On their first meeting, Clymene despised Elvira for mocking her mother, but knew enough not to outright challenge her. Unfamiliar with the Half-Elf, Clymene would begin to respect her when she started to show her respect for rivaling Raiah. Afterwards, she would maintain this sense of respect and trust, but to a pragmatic sense. Knowing Elvira can order Yulyu destroyed at a whim has kept Clymene on eggshells, but seeing and learning of her past has put her in a state of confusion. She trusts Elvira to not aim to outright destroy Yulyu, but fears that if the time ever came, she will. Despite this, shes willing to listen to the experienced soldier, taking her advice and trust her words, as well as remain on her good side at all costs.
--"She's from Yulyu? Thats so... weird. I never saw her there. Still... I need to keep an eye out. Just in case."
- Freya Brunhilde - The daughter to Jordun, a dwarf in Alcis and Clymene's best friend growing up.
--"This one time, she told this guy that she'll rip his ears off for flirting with her after she told him she wasn't interested... lets just say he's known as 'No Eared Jim' for a reason. Another time, she went on a 10 minute rant to some guy pulling on my ears... that's how I learned a man CAN fit his entire arm down his throat from her."
- Gulak - At first, Clymene was confused and disturbed by Andol bringing in the goblin as a teammate of Croak and Dagger. However, as time passed during the events of Wintershield, she would feel decent when seeing him, albeit cautious of carrying anything shiney. His offer to dance with her when she was about to leave the gala has reaffirmed to her that he is a trustworthy person.
--"He's an alright guy. Just... he's like a raven to anything that glitters like gold. Then again, raven's are highly intelligent creatures, so Gulak may know a thing or two that can be very handy. Just... don't have anything glittery."
- Hildr Firebrand - On first sight, Clymene grew a crush on the Aasimar, fawning and stuttering at the sight of her muscular physique and rough exterior. This leg to her trying to flirt or show off - to no avail. After Hildr revealed to be an agent for Caelrong, and attempted to kill her mother - Clymene cut all ties, planning to get revenge and kill her, even ready to ram an arrow in her throat when she captured her father. After Laura convinced Hildr to stand down, Clymene decided not to, but ever since, distrusts the Aasimar. Shes willing to admit Hildr's amazonian features are beautiful, but she has no interest in being with her for anything but an ally. After hearing Hildr call Croak and Dagger her friends, Clymene began to feel a mix of shock and a bit of happiness, allowing her to trust Hildr again.
--"I can trust her to not kill my friends. But if you think I can forgive her for killing my people, then you're crazier than I thought. I'm just not stupid enough to say it to her face and get killed for it."
- Incineryn Blackpyre- While they never interacted much, Clymene viewed Incineryn as one of the better fighters among the old group, with her lightning and flame abilities coming to use time and again. Her death however, came as the biggest shock to Clymene, making her wish she could have talked with her more and learn more about her.
--"Incineryn was always quick to the burn. I don't think I had many chances to speak to her because I probably felt intimidated or so... incapable of talking to anyone... but if she taught Maribelle everything she knows, then I'm pretty damn sure she was holding back the entire time."
- Jason - An old friend from her time at school, Clymene trusts Jason to where she was more than willing to beg him to aid in the war against Caelrogh, knowing it can help prove Wood Elves of Yulyu are valued allies. She also trusts him to never lie to her face.
--"Please. I can't live with the idea that I have nothing at home to fight for... if the four I consider the hopes for Yulyu's brightest are gone. No... Jason's here at least. He'll be a good guy through and through..."
- Jordun Brunhilde - A dwarf who was like an uncle to her growing up, Clymene looked up to Jordun's stories of heroics and tales, especially his own. Part of her desire to be an adventurer was to find him when he seemed to have disappeared and bring him to Freya. However, the Forsaken's ambush shattered her mind further beyond, with her feelings on him warped to disbelief and betrayal - at least for the most part as she felt she heard him plead for her to be left alive. The paradoxical nature left Clymene confused, but furious. After a heated argument with him, Clymene only hopes he can become an ally for the team, still wanting to believe there's good in him.
--"Hera, Mother of Souls, please. Please let him be on our side now. I don't have the heart to kill someone I considered family."
- K'jalias - While at first she found him odd, Clymene and the drowl were often on friendly terms, with Clymene sometimes finding even his worst jokes to be chuckle worthy. When he left, she attempted to keep his humor around - and mostly wishes to see him again and apologize for everything she done.
--"I want to believe he's still on our side. But if he's not... then there's no point. We'll have to kill him. But it'll hurt even more to do that..."
- Logan Karstark - At first, Clymene shared the collective view of him as an "helpful and excellent, lovable, and trustyworthy" guy. Especially after his aid in gaining allies with the Goliaths. His aid in the war, even when he could've fled, has gained a sense of respect and trust. By now, Clymene views Logan as someone whose... unorthadox, but probably has his head on straight when the time comes.
--"Theres a strange aura about Logan. But hes surprisingly lovable. Just wish he used something other then those loud weapons. Eh, he's proficent at least."
- Laura - While she didn't get to impress, Clymene found Laura to be in a major need for joy and less stress, and often tried to make her have fun and release stress without relying purely on her Lawful Good nature. Despite these failures, she viewed Laura as one of the most trustworthy people she's ever met, and cried in despair at realizing that despite helping her, she couldn't protect her.
--"I feel like... I couldn't get her to have fun more... and even when I saved her, she dies. I felt so useless on being unable to help her and to be unable to learn about her. But, she went out in a way I would never be able to do. Like a badass."
- Lumira - While meeting her once at the party, Clymene instantly gained trust in the Tiefling, surprised at her kindness.
--"She has this sisterly-motherly aura to her. I trust her. She's probably gonna' regret joining Clack and Mag- I mean, Croak and Dagger, but they all do before they decide to stay~."
- Marilka Thyrnmur - While Clymene was always certain she could be good with children due to her history at working in an orphanage, she never would have anticipated someone as vulgar as Marilka at such a young age. While she still likes kids, she's greatly concerned about Marilka's high intrigue in going out to kill, but hopeful to at least keep a memory of Quoruk alive.
--"I probably would have signed the legal lease, but I wasn't sure at the time. I think I'd be a good mom, but I feel I'm not READY to be a mom until I retire from adventuring and have some money saved up, big feckin' difference. Funny enough, I always wanted to name a child of mine Avice- but back on topic... I'll just give Marilka sugar highs before sending her back to Hildr. She can be a cute kid when shes not talking as profane and vulgar as Freya. Or calling anyone she hates pedophiles... she'll adjust, maybe."
- Odessa Kyrzack - Through the two run-ins, Clymene has found the attractive librarian a surprise but welcoming sort. Despite being called cute as well, she has yet to pick up on the flirting. She hopes to at least keep making a decent impression to at least gain a new friend. Sadly, by ruining the date by being hyperfocused on her village, it's likely the two won't reunite beyond acquaintances.
--"I fucked up our date royally... I got to make it up to her somehow. I hope we can still be friends!"
- Omerok - While she wasn't sure what to make of Omerok at first, Clymene quickly gained a great deal of respect for the duergar, often seeing him as sort of a cool uncle. His ability to resurrect has often made her wish she could do more, probably learn from him if given the chance. She also greatly respects his wisdom and general savviness, often expressing jealousy but also admiration for his skills in being able to get on just about anybody's good side in an instant.
--"He's like the uncle anyone can have and love! Super reliable, trustworthy, unstoppable! He's just the best! I wonder if he can teach me some farming secrets too... I could go for learning some tips on how to properly build one... geh... how could I repay him though?"
- Maribelle Blackpyre - While not knowing Maribelle as long, Clymene has viewed her somewhat as a younger sister - a more self destructive and powerful sister. She harbors envy in the elf's vastly superior speed as well, despite this - Clymene trusts and respects Maribelle, especially in recent events after managing to quail her anger and use of loopholes to avoid remaining cursed by the cup. Even afterwards, while the two are on friendly terms, they have bickered time to time, but Clymene is also confident that if anyone tries to fight Maribelle - they'll die before even touching the ground and never fears for her saftey.
--"Why do I have a feeling cursing each other is a thing? Well, at least I got that last kill~"
- Raiah Theron - At first, Clymene had incredibly negative views on Raiah, mostly stemming from her and Elvira looking down on Atalanta. With a growing desire to crush Raiah and show Elvira that Wood Elves are not to be looked down upon. During the competition between her, the High Elf, and a human named Kikyo, Clymene barely managed to show she was as good as them, eventually becoming a friend to Raiah after the tournament. With the surge of rivalry quickly fading, Clymene thought the woman to be very attractive and had contemplated asking her on a date. Seeing her and Aiden as a couple has not only made Clymene happy, but congratulating them both and showing outward joy that they can have their trick and treat in privacy.
--"I did want to date her. But I can't compare at ALL to Aiden so it works out. They make such a cute couple! Just uh, don't tell Aiden I wanted to date her. I'd rather keep my throat."
- Sayrax - Like most, Clymene finds Sayrax to be an absoulte charm, not finding attraction, but viewing herself as a sister to the innocent Warforged.
--"Shes. So. CUTE! Sayrax is just so- KYA! Ahem. But yeah, she's so nice. I can see a bit of myself in her... a bit quiet, but also very much helpf-. Well, she's helpful. I appreciate everything she does more than I say. So if she's ever listening... thank you, Sayrax."
- Skulk Greymind - Despite starting as enemies, Clymene greatly trusts and admires Skulk, viewing him as a giant, fun, and well meaning orc. His glee at remembering the war and slaughtering elves being the only time shes felt uneasy near him, but other then that, she sees him as a valued ally, and feels he would always be a good person at heart.
--"I was honestly kinda' nervous having him join at first. But now? Skulk is a superstar indeed!! His wife picked out a good husband!"
- Ygrid Ironborn - Due to the past bad blood between the Alliance and Conclave, Clymene treated the idea of meeting Ygrid with heavy skeptisim and fear, worried that the Goliath would lure her group into a trap the moment they landed. This and her spar with Aileen only made Clymene distrust her, feeling the spar was more a power move to intimidate the Alliance. After the events of Hell, and praying in desperation, as well as the Goliath admitting to being impressed with Croak and Dagger, as well as seeing how she led her units to aid, Clymene began to trust her. However, she never figured out Ygrid was indeed Kelemvor even after their meeting during her prayer - only figuring out from Aiden and the group after the fact. Now aware, she aims to give her thanks properly at some point.
--"Scary. I seriously had a crisis of faith so many times ever since I left home, but she made it more confusing. I heard Kelemvor was a male deity, so the guise or avatar being a Goliath general turned political figure was something I didn't anticipate. Still, I'm thankful she aided us in the war when I fully expected us to be killed on arrival. I'm just unsure what to expect anymore..."
Tavern Room
Ever since she joined, Clymene preferred her tavern room over any other part of the building, leaving it locked unless she’s expecting company. Like her old room, it would have become messy and lived in, with papers and clothing (mostly socks, shorts, and tunics) scattered about. She would keep her bows and quivers under her bed while leaving her dagger under her pillow in case of emergencies. On her door would be pictures of her friends from Croak and Dagger and Yulyu, drawn to the best of her memory and added on whenever someone officially joins. Her cloaks and ponchos would dangle off the doorknob, the bookshelf, and chair near the desk. In the far side, a large mirror would sit, with a brush and comb that she seldom uses except for dances she’s been invited to or if she ever had a date.
The desk she keeps her mirror on has multiple papers and tools in each segment, from pencils to her flute. Humorously, it's the tidiest part of her entire room, with papers stacked neatly to the top left, her camouflage style eye shadow and make up kit to the bottom left, a pencil in the center, her graduation book to the bottom right, and photos of her family and friends from Yulyu to the top right. Her flute would be in front of the mirror next to her brush. The hand held mirror from Sayrax would also be in the center, kept in a case to ensure it remains fresh.
In the corner would be her bookshelf, filled with books ranging from stories to cookbooks to survival guides that were a gift from Chiron. Her short swords would rest next to the drawer, out of sight from the door. As Clymene would choose the room without a window, there would be no real source of light, being an elf, she would have her dark vision to compensate, but as a gnome, she would go by memory of where everything was if she couldn’t see in the late evening. Her closet would contain mostly her dresses, but a few changes of clothes just in case.
The restroom would be kept tidy at all times, but contains up to 16 cups around the sink, this is for her pixies and sprites if they wish to relax in the mortal realms. A bottle of bleach would be next to the bathtub for cleaning as well.
After being attacked by the Forsaken, the bookshelf would be knocked over, several deep cuts next to her bed from nightmares, and drawings of the attackers to the best of her memory hammered above the bookshelf to ensure she memorizes them. A drawing of Tuunbaq would also be dead center with a dart in the center of it. On her desk would be a series of papers for what she hopes would be her records to ensure Croak and Dagger are properly remembered.
Plot (Major WIP)
Session 0 - Apple Picking
The first ever meeting for the newly freed Wood Elf, Clymene would travel to Meadowcraft from her home via foot traffic, sprinting and tree hopping to the city and heading to the place where her pamplhet instructed to meet... and wound up meeting the fellow companions: a drowl named K'jalias, a dwarf named Omerok, a half-orc named Barbatos, and a man named Robyyn. The last to introduce herself, timidness making her speak out loud about her own features in a boastful matter, Clymene would go from happy to emberassed as the group mentioned she spoke as if they were reading a biography.
With Craig giving them their first real mission, Croak and Dagger would adventure and be intercepted by bandits, and defeating them with minimum difficulty. Heading to the forest where the apples needed for a great deal of cider were to be found - the team was attacked by Scarecrows, with Clymene being incapcitated thanks to a knife in her neck. Saved by K'jalias, Clymene would prove her worth by being able to read the instructions quickly and even assist in battling their third encounter: a horde of trees.
With the cider in tow, Croak and Dagger was offically formed!
Tortle Power
One of her earlier comedic missions, Croak and Dagger would be requested aid from a man named Saki, a pizza store owner and leader of a chain called Dohr Dash. This endeavor would take the team to a sewer where four Tortle brothers were taking pizzas without paying, and captured a dwarf who they dubbed April. While Croak and Dagger dealt with three of the four, Clymene went to aid the dwarf in the cage, freeing her binds but battling the fourth brother. Despite his superior endurance vs Clymene's speed, the Wood Elf managed to free the dwarf from her bounds, and the favor was returned with a point blank disintergrate that reduced the Tortle to ash.
With the startling sight, the Tortles backed off, allowing Croak and Dagger to leave and paying for the missing pizzas. The dwarf would reveal herself to be Lydia Redfort, a reoccuring ally.
Underdark Arc
During an adventure for a caravan, a fissure opened up - dragging Croak and Dagger deep into the Underdark. Having only heard rumors and tales, Clymene was offguard entirely, out of her element. With dangerous creatures at every turn, she and the team were cornered a few times, gotten lost as well before stumbling upon a society of gem-like people called Shardminds and Drow.
Hildr Arc
First Battle
Battling the invading army of Black Sun Cultists, Clymene would feel a sensation of trouble for her mother. With Barbatos in tow, she came face to face with Hildr Firebrand battling Atalanta. Betrayed and enraged, Clymene and Barbatos would join the frey, only for Atalanta's spine to be shattered and Barbatos' arm severed. Clymene tried to keep up, only to hear Vecna order a deal:
"Let your mother die."
Clymene's only response was to tell him to fuck off and try to snipe the Aasamair - only to be reduced to dust by the evil deity. While her story was set to end here, Omerok's quick thinking saved the wood elf and resurrected her. With renewed resolve, Clymene only wanted Hildr dead, and studied up to improve her skill (eventually unlocking Wind Wall) and to see if a race she's never encountered before would have any weaknesses she never saw before.
Second Battle
With information on where the Black Sun Cult was hiding, Croak and Dagger went to investigate and stop the promised day, witnessing many civilians being executed by cultists. Viewing them as annoyances and time wasters, the Wood Elf simply wished to bypass them to stop Hildr, but alongside her team, put down the cultists, but not without her rage getting the better of her and causing harm to Barbatos by mistake. With only the Aasamar left, Croak and Dagger cornered her and her dire wolf, and managed to bring her down - making Hildr use up her anger and drive, enraging and confusing her as to why they wouldn't just quit and die.
With Hildr defeated, Clymene originally planned to ram an arrow in her throat to fulfil her revenge and gain some sort of honor. However, due to Laura's protests to Hildr during the battle, one showing they were friends, Clymene held back, despising it, but wanting to honor an ally - as well as not deal with possibly being killed or chewed out by her team in the crossfire. With her father Chiron rescued, and the cult defeated (for now), she viewed it as a victory.
Casino Royale Arc
When offered a vacation by Quoruk to Val Adin's well known casino, Clymene would take this chance to dress to impress Raiah and Elvira, renting a tuxedo from the goblin brothers Bill and Ted. While she knew she wouldn't have enough to pay it back, her plan was a simple case of getting enough money - as she was confident in her skills. Of course, it was impossible for things to go as smoothly. Losing to Barbatos in cards was simple, as she imagined he'd help. But when confronted by the corrupted owners, trouble followed.
A battle would soon ensure, with Raiah joining in to bring down a giant threat. During the entire battle, with an all about raid going on, Clymene would focus primarly on trying to find any money laying around and keeping her tuxedo from getting ripped. Afterwards, she and Croak and Dagger ended up following Logan into what would be one of the more trumatizing missions of her carrier - debt. - And Verytus. But mostly debt. Alongside their new companion: a half-elf known as Andol the Magnificent, the adventure continued.
Bhurnram
With Logan in tow, and Goliaths giving chase on a ship he stole, Clymene agreed with the team to let him be given away in exchange for not being sunk. Knowing that even her water walk ability would only protect her so long from a sinking ship, she and her team would arrive at the Dwarven village of Bhurnram. Here, they would meet the Warforged Sayrax, a soon-to-be ally. On their way to find blueprints of a super weapon, the workshop it was being constructed: Hammerheart Technics; under police presence, Clymene's plan was to sneak past while Barbatos and Andol distracted the guards. This however, was halted when Incinaryn accidentally caused a fire to a small home, trapping the people inside.
Alongside Laura, Clymene tried to break in to rescue anyone inside - this ended up changing when Laura was incapcitated. In despieration at realizing shes not coming out, Clymene had Barbatos throw her inside, where she rescued the downed warrior and tried to find the captured civilians - gaining her first bout of hysteric strength. Even with this boost of adrenaline and determination, the Wood Elf found herself blinded and fell from a second story drop - only to be rescued by a Warforged. Despite her requests to go back in, the house was lost, and to her despair, the family inside likely deceased minus a single boy. Even when trying to comfort him, the boy cursed Croak and Dagger, earning a spot of hate from Clymene as the group went to try and find the blueprints. While inside, the team was attacked by the Reavers, and pushed to a corner thanks to spellcasters negating spells and Clymene herself unable to get distance or provide cover. The tables were turned with the sudden assistance of a red-clad Warforged, and the group found the blueprints - which was taken by Sayrax as she aimed to head to the Conclave.
Zepplins
After a short chase, the team managed to meet the sudden new presence inside of the innocent Warforged named Visera. Convincing her to return the blueprints inside Winora's journal, Croak and Dagger were suddenly attacked on the Zepplin by a mad fury of suicide bombers known as the Iron Bastion. A series of short skirmishes led to the sacrifice of a new ally, but the group had successfully rescued as many people as they could.
Strandand at sea, all but Laura agreed to head directly back to Bhurnram, and managed to convince her to return. Upon doing so, the team hid the journal, showing concern for Sayrax being arrested, and ready to return. All that was left was the page and it's blueprint. Clymene wished to bring it to Yulyu, viewing the blueprints as safe in her village as not only did she believe they could use it for protection from outside forces, but also as their history of neutrality would make it safer there than in the Conclave or the Alliance, as they can likely hide it. Before she could explain herself, Omerok destroyed the page involving the superweapon, settling the matters there.
Poison Blood Arc
Croak and Dagger would find themselves in Verytus, Clymene would be unaware of the events set to take place, and lose track of time - with her mind focused primarly on money to pay off her tux. Here, she would become entranced in a chaotic apocalypse. With racial tensions from followers of Peylor attacking drowl, the infamous Red Plague began to spread, infecting Barbatos and Laura, yet not her or Andol in the slightest. With the assistence of a plague doctor, Croak and Dagger would adventure to meet another of the Forsaken: Gwynevere.
Gwynevere Aural Battle
The ensuring battle pushed Croak and Dagger against a dangerous foe, a Tiefling whose necromantic powers proved difficult. With aid from Sayrax and Hildr - and the sudden sacrifical attacks from Incinaryn Blackpyre and Laura, Gwynevere was soundly defeated. However, the distraught and sudden deaths of her friends - especially after trying to save Laura earlier, pushed Clymene into a state of panic and denial to try and find them, praying and hoping to find them. Forced to accept reality, Clymene stopped speaking for awhile, truamatized that she couldn't save them.
The 1970s
During a visit to Charles, Croak and Dagger would find themselves warped by a young boy and mercenaries, one whose desire for revenge trapped them in an unknown land called 'Los Angeles'. A hot land with moving steel carriages and more assholes and obese men than ever seen in the realms. As usual, when in a brand new and unexplored world, Clymene's desires for adventure took over, making her wish to see the world. Despite the utter confusion of the locals, assuming every member was in costume, it took Garry Gygax pulling on her ear to realize - these were real races from mythology.
The new world would bring Croak and Dagger to find Clymene's new love: a carbonated beverage called 'soda pop'. Two of them being 'Pepsi' and 'Coca Cola'. The two ingredients were written down with hopes to pass onto Charles. While exploring, the team would find themselves in Hollywood, during the production of a movie called 'Game of Death', led by a man named Bruce Lee. While filming, Clymene and Barbatos would be stunt doubles, and pulled their roles off superbly. During this, the mercenaries would attack - aiming to get the price on the team. However, and with the assistance of Bruce Lee, Croak and Dagger easily defeated the mercenaries, and Clymene got her quiver signed by the man himself.
Clymene's hopes to remain and explore were outvoted as the group agreed to find the child who trapped them. The search led to a small commune of hippies in a trailer park. After a short search (and Clymene accepting weed), the group found the child, who refused to return to the realms and still spouted revenge. Annoyed, Clymene did everything in her power to let the child know that she did everything she could to rescue the boy's family. And that her team tried as well. Sadly, this didn't get through thanks to her altered mindset from the drug, but she thought it did and felt proud. The team would eventually meet William, a member of an organization called Men In Black. Aware of their situation, Will attempted to aid in opening a portal, but disaster would strike as a group of martians and a dinosaur would breach through, attacking indiscriminately.
Taking out the Martians, Croak and Dagger would chase the dinosaur across the nearby land, with the Ranger working on firing artiellry handed to her. After barely evading a firey death with wind wall, Croak and Dagger defeated the dinosaur, and returned home with the aid of the MIB.
Cataclysm
With hopes of rest, Clymene and the team got to rest at the Citadel. While the Wood Elf wanted more to return home and cook, she noticed Hildr struggling. Worried, she followed Hildr - only for the two to find themselves paralyzed upon finding Black Sun Cultists summoning Caelrogh. Clymene herself was forced to stand with her bow drawn and mid-shout for backup, hearing the Dragon Rider say that Vecna has not only abandoned her, but viewed her usefulness as over. The resulting eruption left Croak and Dagger critically wounded, and Clymene, barely able to move - surrounded by a Black Dragon. Before she could be killed, Barbatos ran in, sacrificing himself to protect the Wood Elf and leaving her truamatized, realizing she was the cause of despair and the death of another important person.
After being evacuated, Clymene and the team assisted in a short hold the line at Halfaya Pass. The battle started simple, with the Wood Elf serving as covering fire with the archers. This was until backup refused to arrive after signaling a retreat. Confusion and slaughter rang as the group retreated, with Omerok saving Edgar and Clymene believing the last member of the original team other than her were gone.
Diplomacy
In order to get backup and aid against the undead forces, Croak and Dagger went to the Conclave to obtain an alliance with the Goliaths and their leaders. A long boat ride there led to a frozen winter, with the team (minus Skulk, who tagged along) concerned about their surroundings. A journey to the mountains led to unsafe territory, a land where Clymene has never seen before. Staying quiet and nearly falling to her death thanks to Wotjak, Clymene would arrive to the main city of Jotunrath and remain with her hood up, knowing how unwelcomed elves usually were and even went without eating anything but the scones made by Andol as she was certain she'd be poisoned at any time. To her joy, the team would reunite with Omerok as well as the commander Edgar.
After obtaining an audience with Ygrid, Clymene stuck to herself, resting her eyes via trance and studying (and growing ill) at some of the artwork about the Seven Year War. Despite the distrust, she knew her team seemed highly capable - especially with Aiden's political background, and tried to stay out of sight. Sadly for her, while staying with Maribelle and Andol, Clymene would mistake a hooded figure for a child and try to offer aid, only to instead accidentally anger Ymir Jotunkarth. Surprised by the volitcal words from the youngest leader, Clymene tried to apologize but was instead struck for her troubles, gaining instant disdain for the young leader but leaving personal feelings aside for the sake of the mission.
With Edgar, Aileen, and Aiden's statements and requests, the forces of the Conclave eventually offered to help, with Clymene more relived to try and return home to help end the war effort. She stayed to herself on the ship ride back, finally eating real food the moment she returned.
Hell Arc
With rest limited, the team went to find the missing unit consisting of the 501st. Upon arriving at the last seen location - nothing was found but empty tents and a coin. Clymene's main instinct was to ignore the coin and see about getting aid from someone - but with curosity, Croak and Dagger would find themselves in one of the 12 Hells. A metropolis with fast moving steel boxes, skyscrapers, and unusually red tints. Cautious, the team would find themselves in the terminal, and attacked again by imps and demons trying to lure them in a pit of lava. Barely escaping, Croak and Dagger's troubles were just starting as they ventured deep into the belly of the underworld. Unaware of this version of Hell, but comparing it to the Hades' of her people's belief, Clymene would find herself captured, nearly boiled by a flesh golem, and needed to be rescued again and again.
Death - "I'm sorry - Barbatos. I couldn't protect her..."
Eventually, things would come to a head when the team were forced into an arena against a Balor - the same Balor who nearly killed Barbatos. As the team fought, Clymene would conjure her pixies and successfully force the giant demon to collapse and fall asleep and even convince Maribelle to calm before she awakens it. Clymene's plan was to try and free the prisoners of the 501st so they can assist, and while she tried to get close - she was caught offguard by the Balor's teleportation as it cleved into her shoulder and chest. Her last sight being the blade coming at her as she apologized for failing to protect Aileen.
Halloween Special
Waking in the afterlife, but not one she was familiar with, a crossroads between life and death - Clymene was met by a white haired Tiefling, likely Gwynevere. Unaware of what happened, she asked if her friends escaped, and was greeted with a 'yes', only hearing there was one timeline they failed. Fear took over for a moment, but before Clymene could ask what happened, she was dragged back to life - begging and thanking the Tiefling as she regained vision. To her confusion however, Omerok and Aileen seemed taller - and when given a mirrior, she saw why.
Purple pigment replaced her pale skin, her amber eyes brown, her forest green hair silver - and even smaller than a dwarf: she was a rock gnome. A race that was the polar opposite to everything she had, with the only recognizable features of her being her long ears. Terrified, Clymene went into shock and a frenzy, hiding herself when hearing the voice of her old friend: Jason. To make matters worse, she would realize she couldn't even recognize her own native language, but to hear from Andol that Yulyu was now in a state of chaos: with her mother forced to hiding and a coup starting. With nothing but bad news heard, Clymene began to drop further and further into despair, wishing she was dreaming.
While retaining her normal self - albeit using more a front, she would learn of the All Hallow's Eve celebration, and it's excuse to obtain candy. With a festival in town, she decided to try and enjoy herself the best she could - and upon seeing Lyra, a woman from Andol's past, and his interest in her, it became a new goal: get him his girl. From apple bobbing to a pie eating contest - where she came in second next to Aileen, Clymene enjoyed herself, and when everyone but she, Charles, Sayrax, and Aileen accepted an unknown drink, she and the dwarf would grow as friends through a classic method: sparring.
While maintaining control in the first half thanks to her preferred distance, Clymene was swiftly defeated in three strikes once the dwarf roped her and brought her in for a strike. The friendly session was forced to end when a gnome mercenary attacked, summoning pumpkins as warriors to attack the duo. With the aid of Sayrax, her pixies, Godd, and Charles, Aileen and Clymene were able to defeat the gnome, with Clymene silencing him the moment he fell from his high horse-pumpkin, tired of dealing with people attacking them or trying to spite her and her friends. A rush of relief escaped Clymene, only to be replaced by annoyance when the gnome's necklace went missing. Her desire to rush in the woods to follow the footprints was overruled, and she returned to the manor to rest... and to be welcomed by a twerking Hobgoblin, a shirtless Aiden, a high Omerok, and overall, the team just returning from a party of the Gods.
The next morning, Croak and Dagger would enjoy their time, planning to go back to the festival if it was open, or take some more time off - only to spot the Shadow Dragon flying overhead, with Caelrogh in tow.
Shadowfell
Trapped in a world she's never seen, Clymene follows Croak and Dagger in what's known as the Shadowfell, a realm of monochrome, shadow, and muted color. Unaware of this world, Clymene stuck close to her team, watching as the ailments of the world attacked everyone - even nearly choking on an unknown chemical agent that nearly choked her, Aileen, and Maribelle. With aid from Omerok and Aiden, as well as usage of poison protection on herself, and Maribelle following suit, the team escaped - and found what would be known as 'Echoes', copies formed from the memories of others. Witnessing shock for the first time on Maribelle worried the former Wood Elf, and the sight of a terrified Elvira being insulted by what she considers a disgrace to the Hunters gave Clymene a bit of a spine to try and talk him away - only to be insulted in return. Even without her contribution, the team managed to recruit Elvira, who seemed more real than the rest of the world.
With her in tow, chains began to form on everyone but Omerok and Aileen. Following these chains would make a member of C&D relive a truama from their past - with Maribelle, it was her mother abusing her and Incinaryn, for Aiden, it was being made to kill his adoptive mother Cassandra, and for Andol, it was his caretaker at the orphanage known as the Lord of Smiles. Slaying the villain and witnessing her team take on their inner demons, Clymene thought whatever fear she had would come to fruition - only to instead see it related to Elvira. Confused, the archer would witness Elvira kill her commanding officer for abuse and racial insults. The elf would be tied down and expelled for the open murder - with one of the elves detaining her being Atalanta. Confusion became Clymene's main thought, how has she never seen Elvira before when she's a half-elf instead of a full wood elf, why hasn't her mother mentioned anything? Where was she and how long ago was this? Questions she was sure she'd have to ask her mother - but certain it'd be stupid to ask Elvira. With the commander of the Thunderbolts back in tow, the team prepared to leave the Shadowfell, only to spot Hildr being confronted by an echo of her own mother - and assualted, mindcontrolled into thinking Croak and Dagger were her enemies.
Vs Hildr and Aures
Knowing full well a tag team battle would be disasterious, Croak and Dagger's plan remained simple, but effective: attack Aures. For Clymene, seeing Aileen get injured pushed her to try and conjure backup in the form of her Alseid, which were corrupted by Aures, and transformed into gargoyle-like beings. Horrified, insulted, and feeling more useless than ever, Clymene tried to focus on her distance, hiding to ensure she can convince Hildr to stay away from the group - and witnessing her bring down Andol in two strikes. With one of the best support fighters down, Clymene's thoughts became clear: 'Hildr may need to be put down'. Firing arrows to distract while the heavy hitters dealt with Aures, Clymene was surprised to see the Aasimar slowly, but surely, break free from her mind control - and unleash a roar, and a demand:
"How dare you make me attack my friends!"
The confusion of those words stunned Clymene, but seeing Hildr and Aiden charge towards Aures let her know, she had backup now. Before she could aid, she was forced to fight one of the gargoyles, which branded her for death. She barely managed to remove the curse and tried to hurry to help - and saw Aiden shread the God-like mind manipulator to pieces. With her gone, the team managed to reunite with the Thunderbolts, and with Andol in possession of a new gem, and Hildr - seemingly happy to see her friends alive again, returned to the material plane, and prepare to deal with Caelrogh.
Caelrogh - End of Cataclysm
Finally reunited in the real world, Clymene and her friends would begin to prep for the final battle, each talking to someone important to them, or gathering allies to assist. With her friends from Yulyu stuck in the coup and her mother and father missing, Clymene's only hope was the former number 4 and one of her friends: Jason. While unable to convince him that she was indeed stuck as a gnome, but managing to confirm it with Hildr and Elvira's presence despite their unpopularity with the Yulyuian Elf, as well as convince her friends that he is trustworthy. With her allies approving and her as well, Clymene managed to convince him to aid in the war. She has also attempted to convince Bill and Ted, promising that their involvement would be good word of mouth, but failed to do so. She was also incapable of getting several weapons and tools she felt would assist greatly, but made due when they managed to find 3 healing potions. Thanking them, and becoming stunned that she even began to greet them the same way they greet her, she prepared for the war after speaking going to Elvira.
Upon meeting with Elvira, Clymene was surprised to hear that the female half-elf was not only older, but was indeed kicked out after a life of abuse. The horror left Clymene speechless, confused, and horrified. With minor seeds of hate beginning to grow, Clymene for the first time began to express worry and question her own loyalty to her village. Listening to advice from the experinced soldier, and finishing a task to bring her gifts to Hildr, Clymene would begin to figure out and learn the two were indeed lovers. While harboring and hiding her feelings of displeasure towards her home, Clymene would prepare for war, making one final plan that would show her despiration.
While a faithful member to the religion of home, she believed in trying to pray to Kelemvor, the God of Death in hopes for their assistance. What she recieved while attempting so was Ygrid. Unaware of Ygrid's true nature, the goliath would convince Clymene that people who wish to speak with the God shave their heads to show their loyalty: something she took as fact rather than a hoax. With her own dagger, Clymene shaved her head bare - and was promptly left confused as to if it helped. Hiding all traces of worry beneath her joy to be with her friends for one more evening filled with dancing horribly around a campfire.
Come dawn, with aid from Amon and Finethir, Croak and Dagger would help fend off undead Wyverns, as well as reach the portal, ready to defeat the Aasimar would changed their world entirely.
The Final Battle - Act I
Returned to the Shadowfell, with her new cloak and bow attuned, her friends prepared, and Sayrax brought along as medical aid, Clyemene followed her team through the door to confront Caelrogh. With a refreshly revived Barbatos in tow, the 8-on-2 battle began! Sticking to her support role, Clymene began by unleashing Silence to negate Caelrogh's electric magic as well as deafen him and his dragon, allowing her team to strike hard. With the known time limit on Haste, Clymene prepared herself to summon her Alseid if needbe, concerned on trying as she remembered last time. Despite these worries, she was surprised to see how well their teamwork came across - with Omerok's transforming, Aileen and Godd's ability to aid in locking down Caelrogh, Maribelle snatching the crown, Aiden's sheer power, Barbatos' advantage thanks to his devotion, as well as Sayrax's ranged healing, the team brought Caelrogh to his defeat in moments - with her wind wall severing his arm as Aileen dealt the finishing blow! Or so it seemed.
The Final Battle - Act II
With realization of their enemy being not an Aasimar, but a Dracolich! Clymene felt the slightest hint of terror, remembering last time and how the trouble is merely amplified here. Despite this, she began to fight it back with courage, slowly stepping forth and playing defense to aid Andol in keeping distance by summoning wind wall to protect him, as well as the insane offense presented by Aileen, Omerok, Aiden, and Barbatos - Caelrogh was forced to witness the Gods themselves - as well as their closest allies come in for aid. Before long, after several days of agony, terror, and doubt, with Maribelle dealing the finishing blow - Caelrogh - the Nightmare King, met his end at the hands of Croak and Dagger. Despite not taking damage, Clymene felt relief, joy, and a desire for a long nap.
The Afterparty, End of Arc II
After the battle, a long party was set up for everyone - a chance to relax and talk with others. Wanting to make sure she properly thanked Jason and Elvira, Clymene went to find the two - and was thankful to find them together, but also with a woman she's never seen before - a woman named Tuunbaaq. Listening in, Clymene would hear the debates of the woman's sudden arrival, and how Jason knows of her arrival being a bad omen and while Elvira finds it suspicious that the former member of her unit would suddenly have the money to pay off a village's debt, can't intervene as nothing has actually happened. This kept Clymene concerned, especially hearing Tuunbaaq's claims that the village's new management will be superior to its past.
Disbeliving her, but unable to do much, she waited until the woman left, keeping out of sight - viewing it as advantatious for Tuunbaaq to be unaware of her. Clymene would also speak to Amon and Finethir, offering to aid in healing - and also to ask them to try and polymorph her to normal. However, a series of misunderstandings would end up turning her into something worse than her already current form - a naked male goblin. Truamatizing the bar and herself again - Clymene was returned to normal and fled, ready to spend the rest of the evening alone and weep. This however, was denied as she was snagged by Logan. The dashing rogue would glare her down and speak to her, mentioning and explaining that she has nothing to prove to anyone - that she's trying too hard to impress others, how despite everyone jokes about him or mocks him, and that everyone else has struggles above and beyond, they do everything they can for the ones they care for. Still in a state of depression, but understanding him completely, Clymene would return, but keep her head down. And nearly break her drink upon seeing Samantha Harper flirt with Aileen. After a night of drinking, Clymene returned to have a long and well deserved nap.
Wintershield
A long nap that was rudely interuppted by the sound of a hammer. Not too long after the battle with Caelrogh, the celebrations of Winterfell had begun, with Craig hammering away to wake the entire tavern. After a rundown from the halfling, Clymene would try to sneak outside - and promptly stopped by a hammer flying by her head. Breakfast was the order from her boss, and as Croak and Dagger ate, they would rush outside for a past time loved by all: snowball warfare.
Aiming to strike Aileen, Clymene would be hit by Skulk, then the blonde dwarf - and alongside Aiden and Andol, caught in a free-for-all warzone. Her own pixies, all 16 of them, would even turn on her thanks to Lyra. Despite being on the recieving end of a war of snow, Clymene enjoyed herself immensly, and even decided to join Aileen in a snowboarding race down the street. With no shield, she had to improvise, taking a manhole cover and joining the dwarf in a race - that ended with her being unable to stop. Unlike with the mountains of the Conclave, where she was confident she could snowboard easily, the streets were covered in more ice than snow and dirt, forcing her to try and stop - which resulted in her trying to use a wind wall to halt herself - and instead be used as a launchpad for her improvised snowboard to fly into a nearby house. Burying herself in the snow, the elf-turned-gnome was found and plucked out by Roland, who instead of arresting her for destruction of property, mishandling of federal equipment, improper and dangerous usage of magical abilities, and almost causing a child to be hit, decided to be "nice" and launch Clymene into public service.
Unpaid and forced into an elf costume, an ironic fate, and worst of all - working under Bill and Ted for their toy drive.
During the gift giving, Clymene was more than happy to finally be able to share some of her thoughts with some of her teammates: to tell Andol she could never repay him enough, asking Victor and Garreth to find her the Periapt of Wound Closure and gift it to the Half-Elf, the idea for it coming from their incident in Hell where she was unable to save him from bleeding out. Her thoughts on Aileen and how she wanted to show the dwarf that there is more than the trauma she suffered the moment she joined - followed by a potion of invulnerability and a purfume named Cinnamon Cider. For Aiden, because she couldn't think of anything, a book titled The Wolf who Stole the Moon's Heart, and for Omerok, the duergar who saved them time and again: a best uncle T-Shirt, mostly because again, she was unsure how to find anything to repay him. Lastly, she gifted her cursed Bow of Elven Precision to Maribelle, viewing the High-Elf she sees as a sister to be someone who could make a better use of it.
At the gala, Clymene would get back to Odessa, with cues from Logan to try and keep her motivation to speak only on the now. However, upon mention of Yulyu, her mind would warp to see if she could get information on what happened - messing up the date, but leaving on decent, likely friendly terms with the Genasai. Despite this, Clymene would remain depressed and standoffish, hoping to help find the missing Castille Sword. When found by Omerok, shes convinced to aid in finding footprints leading outside of the castle and into a cabin. With Maribelle, Andol, and Gulok missing, but aided by Omerok, Aiden, Hildr, and Raiah - Clymene managed to pick off two goblin guards and prepare to help rescue the captured allies...
This would end disasterously as she punctured and tore open Krampus Jr's bag of holding, mistaking it for a normal burlap sack. The resulting eruption would cause the death of the three captured party members, Krampus Jr, 20 goblins, and critically injure Raiah. Horrified and stunned silent, Clymene would follow the group back to explain the situation - and surprised that Raiah took the blame instead. Still distraught, she would head to the restrooms to cry, cursing herself for leading to the death of the High Elf she looked to as a sister, and the Half Elf who saved her time and again. Mid-cry, she was found by Lumira, who assisted her into calming down and helped her leave. Surprised to see Maribelle alive, she approached the High Elf, promising that once things are clear with Yulyu and she makes enough, she intends to buy a house for her, so she can never be alone. At the end, when preparing to leave, Clymene would be asked by Gulok to dance, the goblin saying nobody deserves to be alone. Eyes bloodshot, but happy to be asked, she accepted the goblin's hand and began to dance.
By the end, Clymene would share a drink with the team by a fire, feeling at home again - quiet, but happy that they were a family.
Prelude to Act III
After a relaxing few days, Clymene would spend time with Craig, eating alongside her boss. However, this is interrupted by the arrival of Jordun Brunhilde, the dwarf she's been searching for and the father to Freya. Overjoyed and surprised he recognized her, Clymene and Craig would catch up with the dwarf, eventually following him to accept a ride to his old home in Alcis. En route, at least, supposedly, Clymene would catch up with him, only eventually realizing something seemed off about his attitude. His jovial and blissful yet drywit expressions quickly shifting to one of somber realization and despair. Alongside Craig, Clymene would reach for her dagger, cautious and worried at his sudden shift in tone as he asked her, 'why did you say that name?'.
Before she could do anything or ask further questions, Clymene would find herself barely able to breath as a bullet punctured her ribcage from outside the carriage. In an instant, Craig would begin battling Jordun, even gaining the upper hand as the gnome tried to steady her breathing, too shocked to apply cure wounds or try to summon her woodland allies. Before she could even attempt that, she was dragged out and thrown, beatened, and rendered immobile as Craig was shot twice and pulled out as well. Horror set in as Clymene attempted to lie still, trying to make plans, speak, or even plea. Her lungs too filled with blood prevented this as she began to shake, realizing she had been lured to a trap set by the Forsaken, and worse of all: Jordun was in on it.
Terrified, Clymene tried to find a way out - only to see Incinaryn leave the carriage and head for Craig's barely conscious body. This was the last thing she saw before Ivar knocked her out. She wouldn't wake up again until she was thrown against the tavern, bound, gagged, and forced to hold Craig's severed hand. Despair settling in on her, the feeling she got her boss killed, and that she was used again to be a signal, whatever goodwill and optimism she had began to die out. Rather she could trust anyone that is not among the people who travel with her is uncertain.
Act III - Capturing Jordun and searching for Craig
Shortly after recovering, Croak and Dagger would follow a trail leading to Jordun. With a full ensemble of Croak and Dagger in tow, Clymene would summon her dryads and assist Sayrax while also ordering the summons to prevent one of the wagons from escaping. The vines would lock Jordun in until she ordered them down - allowing Hildr to render him unconscious with a single strike. When he finally comes to, Clymene barely restrains herself from wanting to torture him, allowing Elvira to do the talking - with a clay duplicate of her friend Freya. Despite knowing its a false mimicry, the sounds of terror and fear - while completely foreign to her ears left her a bit shaken but fighting it for her team. Luckily, this got Jordun to talk, and while he was unaware of Craig's location, gave them enough clues - alongside finding a code that would point them in the right direction. Clymene would try to convince him to aid Croak and Dagger, expressing her displeasure and horror that he would even join the Forsaken, only for him to tell her not only of how she's the laughing stock and of no use to both her team and his, but also that he had no choice but to. While she knew she could believe him in both situations, she was appreciative to see him eventually decide to help. But only as long as Freya is alive.
This would come with both backing from Aileen, who convinced Jordun, and Andol using mental unison to make Jordun witness and feel the pain - both physical and mental, that Clymene felt from the attack. At the same time however, Clymene would witness Jordun's memory of Tuunbaq defeating Atalanta and sending her and Chiron from Yulyu, subtly telling Jordun to off them. Instead, the dwarf would sneak them out of the village. With her biggest suspicion confirmed, but also one of her biggests fear that most of her friends willingly aligned themselves with the terrorist, a new sense of despair sinked in, but with Jordun willing to help, as well as confirmation that her parents and friend are safe, she could take solice in a small victory over the Forsaken.
Alongside Logan, as well as their newest teammate: Lumira, and an unsettling tagalong in the form of Marilka, Croak and Dagger would follow a lead that led them to a forest not far from Hadleigh. Said lead would take the team to a nearby mine owned by the Carta Cartel, and a firefight would erupt! With Aileen, Logan, and Aiden originally serving as distractions, Omerok scooping up Marilka and dealing with a sniper, Lumira keeping an eye on the child, and Andol providing support, Clymene and Maribelle would sneak around, but the High Elf would quickly join the brawl. Clymene would aid by killing the High Elf's target right at the same time, and join the team in the aftermath. When surveying the scene, Clymene would hear one of the miner's exclaim something...
"Death becomes us."
And erupt - with Andol nearby.
Thankfully, Andol survived the explosive encounter with ATOM, and with the Sorcerer rescued, Clymene and Lumira quickly began to heal him while the team focused on the plan to find the nearest Carta Cartel location. This led the group to Hadleigh's safehouses: The Crooked Nun's Brothel and Vineyard. Once inside, Clymene, Andol, Omerok, and Aiden would sneak into the basements to find clues and discover if there were any leads - and found a Hex front. A rabbit humanoid would discover the team and in a panic, throw a hex-laced bottle of wine at the group - and hit Aiden.
When everything came to, Aiden’s body was replaced - thinking as fast as she could, Clymene ordered the rabbit humanoid to flee as she pulled her cloak and summoned two Quicklings - one of which was killed in an instant as the person before her, Andol, and Omerok wasn’t Aiden - but the werewolf deity Malar. A brutal one-sided battle occurred where the three - as well as Aileen, were quickly overwhelmed, with the dwarf being rendered unconscious in a single combo, Omerok nearly killed, Andol brought to his knees, and Clymene herself being bitten so the lycanthropy virus can find a host. Thankfully, Aiden regained control over his body, and Omerok healed her of the virus when healing her. The group would quickly flee the arriving backup by using a passageway and hurrying to escape a horde of spiders.
After said spiders however, were a horde of spider-like brain beasts: Intellect Devourer. The beasts would render Aileen in a vegetative state and force the group to flee - with Aiden carrying the dwarf. When scaling a cliff after the successful escape, Malor seized control of Aiden again and killed Aileen - impaling her during a fall. The traumatic ordeal would leave Clymene repeating a past mistake, when trying to pray to Hera, mother of Souls, she ended up conjuring the dark deity Shar. When unable to see the soul or know of Aileen’s place in death, Clymene did the only thing she could think of and make a deal. She would offer Tuunbaq as tribute in return for Aileen. With the dwarf revived, Clymene would leave her mind set on taking down the woman.
Upon returning to Meadowcraft to prepare, Clymene would go to Jordun and ask him for a simple favor. If she died, for him to take her place. Instead, she would get into a slowly escalating argument with him, enraged at his refusal to do more than insult her and contemplate threatening him. Instead, she would thank him for saving her parents, but still leave the offer for him to assist Croak and Dagger and leave, getting rations from Ramona and retreating to her room to plan.

- Clymene's favorite food is Yulyu Special - also known as Poutine in the human tongue. Its also her go-to meal to make for others. Her favorite drink is a tie between Pepsi and Coca-Cola thanks to her time in the 1970s
- Each fey Clymene summons has their own name and personality.
- As a Wood Elf, Clymene has a scent akin to pinecones, this can only be smelled by those she trusts the most (C&D, Atalanta, Chiron, Raiah, Elvira, and Edgar, and more recently: Hildr)

- Out of all of Croak and Dagger, Clymene is the only one to have never referred to Caelrogh as Carlos.
- Clymene often talks with her summons before bed, mostly to make sure they're doing okay and to check in on them. She often gets most of her ideas for stories from her fellow Fey summons.
- Clymene's offical alignment is Neutral Good, despite this, she has bounced between Chaotic Good, Chaotic Neutral, and Lawful Neutral. This was aimed for by keeping her subserviant and quiet, unwilling to speak her mind to prevent conflict, but also aiming to try and do the right thing when she can. After Caelrogh however, and with her village's coupe, this alignment has been put into question
- Alongside Aileen and Maribelle, Clymene is considered part of the Truama Trio, the three who experince the most physical or mental suffering throughout sessions outside of backstories

- Originally, Clymene never had a stutter outside of situations where she's flustered (usually when complimented or overjoyed), any stuttering being the result of her player having this problem. This however, has seem to stuck
- At 3 party members, 1 boss, and ~20 goblins, Clymene has the highest kill count in one turn among the party. She also has the highest team injury rate.
- Despite being told she has a terrible singing voice by her teacher, Clymene can sing surprisingly well - rather this was pure luck, desire to impress Odessa, or a sign of her confidence is unknown as of yet.
