Kozure Yoshida was the director of the Shinsengumi under the Yoshida family until his capture, torture, and supposed execution for treason. It was said that Kozure discovered disturbing evidence of forbidden magic being practiced by the Yoshida family, and when he threatened to out them, they killed him and his family. It appeared that Kozure survived the attempt on his life and was outfitted with prosthetic limbs. He later recruited other victims of the Yoshida family's crimes and formed the Straw Hat Ronin. It is believed that the group has either been captured and killed, or vanished during the Sheng-Lao Riots.
