Victor Salazaar was born Lorna Salazaar in the barrios of San Vanelona where he worked as a runner for its many street gangs before becoming a lieutenant, or Sicario, for the Carta Cartel. Unknown events led Victor to leaving San Vanelona to join the Lionhearts, then eventually left the Lionhearts to become a bounty hunter. Victor's travels eventually landed him in a bar chasing down a bounty on a gnome who was being protected by another bounty hunter who ended up being Garrett. The two wound up fighting but were forced to work together to escape when a third party entered the bar, looking to claim separate bounties place on the two men. From that moment on, Victor and Garrett continuously bumped into each other on a number of jobs before agreeing to work together.
Croak and Dagger
Victor's first run in with Croak and Dagger was when he and Garrett had captured Bigby Bixton and intended on turning him in to the gangs he had wronged. With the promise of a bigger long-term payout, Garrett and Victor reluctantly handed Bigby over to Croak and Dagger. Their founder, Craig Firebrand ended up hiring Victor and Garrett long-term. The duo were welcomed about as well as you'd expect, especially when Victor expressed his distrust of Aiden because of Aiden's lycanthropy. This open opinion has earned Victor a spot on Aiden, Andol, and much of the party's shit list. Despite this, Victor remains one of two glorified doormen on the tavern's busiest nights, though he has expressed aspirations for a position with more...upward movement.
Abilities
Weapon Master. Victor has demonstrated a regimented handling of all weapons, big and small. This is believed to be due in part to his time with the Lionhearts.
Monster Hunter. Also thanks to his time with the Lionhearts, Victor has a scholarly knowledge of beasts, mutants, and abominations as well as their common weaknesses.
Photographic Reflexes and Mimicry. Victor has demonstrated an almost superhuman ability to watch another person's physical movements and duplicate them without practice, no matter how unique or complex these movements might be. He can also apply this to watching their verbal and somantic movements when casting magic, and duplicate magical spells.
Relationships
Aiden "Anyone who regularly calls themselves an "Apex Predator" clearly has no remorse about the lives they've taken. Aiden has already attacked and hurt the others twice. He's a massacre waiting to happen. But fine, let's all keep getting gaslit and playing along with the Aiden Show."
Andol "Another one that thinks flashing their eyes at me means something. Everybody is so scared of this caped wonder and his blood-thirsty brother that nobody stands up to them. Go ahead, banish my brain, big guy. Prove me right."
Craig "The boss is a good man. That's it. He's straight with me and Garrett when he can't pay us for the week, needs us to run an overnight job, or just pick up some food or medicine. He promised us decent work and we've got it. He treats us right and we do the same by him. Don't fuck with him and we won't have a problem."
Garrett "Garrett is honest. That's about it. He's been honest with me from day one and I know everyone listening to this thinks 'No shit, you're both bad guys, of course you think that'. Well, let me tell you something. Garrett has always been up front with me about everything. From my business back home, to my nagging, to every pre-plan that he swears will end in a glorious fuck-up. He's been the only halfway honest person and I guess that's why I stuck around for so long. Yeah we have our days where we want to kick each other's teeth in, but I know at the end of the day Garrett has my back. Coin or no coin, he's got my back'."
Hildr "Her night terrors used to get so bad, Garrett and I could hear her all the way upstairs. I remember it always used to suck waking up from those completely alone. So, one night, when it was real bad, I convinced Garrett to drag some chairs in and stay with Hildr until she fell asleep. We'd play cards or roll dice. Whatever we could think of just to take her mind off things. Huh? ...No, I don't talk about it, because I don't need a paycheck or medal like some people. I do things cause it's right. That's it."
The Lionhearts "Somewhere along the way, I just didn't feel like I belonged. No, I won't elaborate.."
