Backstory

Blood Upon the Snow

In another life, Dimitri Kyrzack was the oldest of supposedly twelve children born to the prominently wealthy Kyrzack family. Dimitri was a well read young boy who took a keen interest in philosophy and art an early age, and was very well-versed in many of the age's early languages. He enjoyed the art and language of other cultures, primarily that of early druids who used dark colors to draw beastial shapes and tell stories about the many greater and lesser beasts that Dimitri's own mother often told dark, terrifying tales of. There is a considerable gap in time between Dimitri's childhood, and his stay at a work labor camp as Prisoner 326. Very little is known about Dimitri's crimes, only that his sister Odessa was incarcerated as well. The two were almost inseparable and made for a cunning, dangerous pair. The siblings used their skills to break out of the labor camp amidst a riot, and vanished for a number of years before reappearing again in Grimice with The Hunt. Varying eye-witness accounts have Odessa leaving her brother's side after a physical, bloody dispute.

Campaign 1, Croak and Dagger

By the time Croak and Dagger arrived in Grimice, Dimitri and the Hunt had already seized control of the city from the Lionhearts and followers of Adam Thorin. Upon arriving, Croak and Dagger saw just how deeply the rest of the Hunt admired, respected, and feared Dimitri. While Dimitri was almost immediately infatuated with Aiden, detecting the aspect of Malar living within Aiden's body. Dimitri welcomed the rest of the party in, so long as they respected the Hunt's rules. During the party's stay there, Dimitri told Aiden that Malar belonged to the same litter as he and Sofka, insinuating that they were siblings. Dimitri took Aiden under his wing and preached that lycanthropy wasn't a curse, but a gift that could be controlled with an artifact called the Soul Knife. Ultimately, Aiden's choice to use the knife to destroy Malar disappointed Dimitri greatly. But left him to contemplate his own life choices, and what was lost in his pursuits of a family undying.

Miscellaneous Facts

  • Dimitri's accent was the longest practiced accent in the game, practiced over the course of eight hours a day for two weeks at work. Russian-maybe-British-now-with-a-Brogue-oh-great.
  • Dimitri is the only NPC to have uttered a word in a real-world language aside from English. When he said 'goodbye' in Russian to Grok before handing him over to Croak and Dagger
