Appearance
Whisper is described as standing at a little over four feet. She has soft, quieting features and a discernible warm smile that lures people in. Her eyes are bright, yellow voids that stare through people. Those who get close enough can just make out scars along Whisper's lips where she had her tongue cut out.
Backstory
The Show Must Go On
In another time, another life, Whisper was a performer for the traveling Witchlight Carnival. Whisper was a dazzling special effects and storytelling artist, adding dancing magical displays of light to the circuses other performances. As a storyteller, Whisper recited tales of love, loss, mystery, and intrigue from her big book of collected poetry and short stories. But after a while, Whisper grew to felt trapped and had a strong desire to see the world outside the tents, high wires, and carnival games. With the blessings of her circus family, Whisper left the big top behind and joined a band of traveling adventures known as Croak and Dagger. The adventuring party’s fantastical tales of heroism and bravery were sang in taverns across Parlusia by Whisper who grew incredibly close with her new friends over a number of years.
At the height of their popularity, Croak and Dagger uncovered a plot to collect and activate the ancestral Dragon Masks, with Parlusian Chief Chaplain and Solarium Magistrate Victoria Briarwood at the center of it. For all of Magistrate Victoria’s power, influence, and bluster, she and her allies were brought down by Croak Dagger and their plot foiled. It was at the end of a long, eventually three years that Croak and Dagger’s adventures seemed to finally coming to an end. It was in the midst of celebrations, surrounded by dear friends and beloved allies, that a deep sadness crept over Whisper. All around her she saw stories closing, coming to an end. Overcome by manifesting fears of what comes after all the adventures, Whisper took the unified Dragon Crown and used it to reset the timeline. Except the intervention of otherwordly entities threw her beyond her first meeting Croak and Dagger. So began a ruinous cycle of numerous, desperate attempts to use the masks to right her path and get back to her friends. It is unknown how many times Whisper has done this, or the damage it has done to her psyche. It has reached the point that even Whisper herself has lost sight of her goal and fallen into a crazed bout of narcissistic psychosis.
Campaign 1, Heroes for Hire
Whisper’s latest reset threw her back to the reign of the Parlusian Empire under King Oswald Tettares I. With her incredible power, honed over hundreds of years and resets, Whisper sauntered her way as Oswald’s personal oracle. She used her position to persuade Oswald to pursue the Dragon Masks which she promised would ensure Parlusia’s, and his, continued rule for the next thousand years. This caused Oswald to lose sight of the growing rebellion in Parlusian, and created a new primary, canonical universe where Parlusia fell. As a result, Whisper and Victoria clashed yet again resulting in Victoria’s death, and Whisper fully committing to running the Forsaken with Ivar Ivar and K’jalis. Whisper appears to be at her most unhinged as her motives and behavior exist on a constantly swinging scale.
