Appearance

His body is a tapestry of failed attempts to kill him. He's described as being over eight feet tall with pale skin, ember reddish-brown eyes, and dark, reddish hair. A rare genetic mutation in Goliaths. If his sheer size wasn't enough to identify him, Ivar was described as having a deep-tissue scar along the left side of his face that gives his jaw a bit of a deformed look. Ivar's quiet, contemplative presence with his intimidating stature has silenced rooms full of people.

Backstory

We Are Forsaken

Ivar was sentenced to a life of hard labor after an undisclosed crime. During his sentence he met K'jalis and the two hatched a plan to escape. The two single most dangerous prisoners to never finish their sentence, hatched an escape plan and were free after only serving less than a quarter of their sentences. On their way east, the two escapees met Whisper in the village of Commonstead. The villagers had mutilated, tortured, and shoved the Tiefling into a makeshift, man-sized birdcage above an open fire. After convincing the town guard to free Whisper, Ivar later went back and slaughtered them all.

The Slaughter at Kartenheim

Ivar was sighted at the Viking city of Kartenheim. Reports say he entered the king's castle and slaughtered the entire noble family. Once done, he exited the castle and stormed the streets of Kartenheim with an army of thieves and murderers and killed hundreds. The almost absurd, even shocking, truth is that after Ivar butchered the noble family, he took to the sky and vaporized entire city blocks from the sheer speed and force he flew at. But the thought of a Goliath like Ivar having strength like that, is too terrifying to imagine for the Alliance. That heroes, aren't the only ones with the strength to move cities. Since the incident, Ivar's record has been redacted a number of times and sightings of him have been kept hidden from the public. Best to bury a nightmare like him in fairytales.

One Bad Day Away...

When Croak and Dagger attempted to relocate Freya Brunhilde to Baldur's Gate, Ivar blindsided the airship and dropped it on everyone below in a feat of otherworldly strength. During the attack, Ivar took a particular interest in Aiden who held out longer than expected when he went toe to toe with Ivar. During the fight, Ivar expressed that it was due to weak followers, following weak leaders that Ivar was the way that he was. He admitted to being a lot like Croak and Dagger, protecting and shielding people as they did. Acting as a symbol of hope. But one bad day changed it all. That everyone turned on him, and that they'd turn Aiden and the others too. That they were just one bad day away from becoming like Ivar.

Abilities

Astral Goliath. Due to either his sheer speed and strength, or some supernatural, unforeseen connection, Ivar is capable of breaching the barrier between the Astral and Material Planes. Once he does this, Ivar is capable of crossing the habitable pockets of the astral plan and appear in different locations. Ivar is also able to absorb and imbue himself with this astral energy, granting him incredibly terrifying powers and features including summoning meteor storms and firing beams from his eyes.

Adapt and Survive. Ivar's multiple encounters with adventuring parties and bounty hunters has allowed him to learn, adapt, and fight against multiple individuals with varying talents. He is able to pick out the many classes that adventuring parties have, their talents, their weaknesses, and adapt his fighting strategy as needed.

City Smasher. Ivar possesses astounding, almost supernatural speed, flight, strength, and endurance. He is capable of breaking the sound-barrier, felling small buildings with his fists, punching airships out of the sky, and withstanding even the mightiest blows from opponents. Ivar is one of the first of his kind in a world of dragons and magic.
