Campaign 1, Heroes for Hire

It took Marilka a while to warm up to her new family. Some were deterred by her harsh, vulgar language and gave her an expiration date before Hildr returned her to the orphanage. But most saw that Marilka was just a child dealing with her life changing month to month, and some understood what that was like. For every joke, harsh criticism, and rebellious outburst, Marilka believed she was expediting the process of being sent back to Hearthhaven. She was utterly confused when despite all that, most of her new family remained patient with her. Now, Marilka can't imagine a day without Hildr's watchful eye, Maribelle's tutelage, or hot summer days in Charles's workshop.
