The Praetorians were a militarized sect of holy warriors founded under the Imperium during Zero Year in response to rogue magic tearing the realm apart. At the height of their power, the Praetorians acted as King Oswald Tettares’s secret terror-squad, as well as watchful eyes over the Emperor on behalf of the Imperium. They were practiced, battle-hardened, zealous soldiers adept in combatting and killing mages of all schools and specialties. They could be seem wearing black plate armor with purple heraldry and ominous faceplates. What struck the fear of the Gods into any mage they encountered wasn’t so much their armor, but their terrifying weapons imbued with Shadowglass, which killed and crystallized any mage it touched.
