She bet Atalanta that her second-in-command [[Raiah Theron]] could best Clymene in the afternoon's archery duel, which Clymene would go on to win in a sudden-death paintball match against Raiah. Beneath Elvira's crude, abrasive exterior was a woman who wanted nothing less than the best for those like her. In Clymene, Elvira saw herself and went on to push Clymene physically and mentally, challenging and confronting her at every interaction. She joined the Thunderbolts on their journey east for as long as it took for her to reach Val-Adin, or gain the courage to confront her father. With the Thunderbolts, Elvira found a group of likeminded rebels with which to grow close with and learn under. Elvira grew especially close with [[Hildr Firebrand\|Hildr]], with whom she developed romantic feelings for. They would exchanged books and poems, then discuss them over campfires and even read to one another. Despite her feelings towards Hildr, Elvira rejected her and chose to stay on the path towards Val-Adin. When Elvira did reach Val-Adin, she gave Hildr one last book.
