The Zhentarim, also known as the Blackcaps, are an alliance of thieves and criminals that operates within the Kingdom of Goldmask. It is occasionally called the "Thieves' Guild". While it is not officially a guild, it operates like one.
Callin claimed to the first party that Kaza had ties to the Blackcaps. Rizzeryl was a Zhentarim member who commanded a pack of wererats in the second level of the Undermountain. He tasked the party with killing the two Xanathar Guild leaders on that level. Yek the Tall told the party that the Zhentarim have been pressuring him to pay them a cut of the bazaar's profits.
