"Smiley" gro-Mal was an orc bandit and adventurer that was looking for the Staff of Worlds.
After interrogating a thrall of Aldis, he learned the Staff was in Vask Sil's manor. He reached the manor but was killed by the minotaur in the maze in the second floor basement. After his death, his ghost haunted the manor's basement and nearly attacked Jetty and Arathyn in the library. They found his journal near his remains in the maze.
