Rollis Bridge is a city and a large stone bridge over the Vîr River.
The bridge itself is a large stone bridge with four square towers on the corners.
History
The bridge was built long ago as a gift from Okirbom to the early Kingdom of Goldmask. It would show good faith and allow trade to be opened between the Kingdom and Irolon.
In 818 GE, a gang of bandits lead by a man called Calm Daniel. After Bootknife told him that he broke Sarkas Mistletoe out of prison, he had his gang kidnap some of the members of the second party and demand for them to tell him where Sarkas was, not knowing that Sarkas died at Frostpoint. The party ended up killing Calm Daniel, escaping the gang, and continuing south to New Stormcastle.
In 820 GE, after Swanguard was attacked and taken by Cinderdale at the start of the Cinderdalian Revolution, defenses throughout Stormhold were heightened. Walls were built around every city and village in the region, and strategic positions like the Rollis Bridge were sent soldiers to patrol them. The gang was cleared out and a small team of soldiers took up residence on the bridge. Many refugees from Swanguard fled to New Stormcastle, but some for whatever reason avoided the city. Some seeking shelter saw a nearby well-fortified bridge that now has soldiers guarding it, and constructed ramshackle shelters outside the bridge. As the war continued, more and more refugees from Cinderdale would settle here in what became a growing village. After the walls around Sigmund's Sinkhole (as well as much of the village itself) were burnt down, defenses once again heightened and more soldiers were sent to guard the bridge and the village. A stone wall was constructed around the growing settlement. More guards requires more places to live, eat, relax, and train, so the village continued to grow.
By the time the war ended in 823 GE, Rollis Bridge was one of the larger settlements remaining in the fractured Stormhold region.
