Deities (or gods) are entities of great power that control some aspects of mortals lives.
Due to the Divine Pact, however, their power is limited to being given to clerics.
In addition to deity worship, many cultures also practice ancestor worship.
Cyric, Jergal, Oghma, Pelor, Rend, and Xox are the elder gods, as they have always been gods. The other gods were once mortals but have ascended to godhood.
