Mal is the god of strength and orcs. He is known as Gruumsh as well as the first orc.
During the Second Holy War Mal was a human warrior known for his strength and rage. He single-handedly fought through an army of angels lead by Xox and upon reaching Xox challenged them to a duel. Xox was impressed by this and transformed Mal into an orc. After the war ended, he and the other Five Generals were elevated to godhood.
