Walls were built around every city and village in the region, and strategic positions like the Rollis Bridge were sent soldiers to patrol them. The gang was cleared out and a small team of soldiers took up residence on the bridge. Many refugees from Swanguard fled to [[New Stormcastle]], but some for whatever reason avoided the city. Some seeking shelter saw a nearby well-fortified bridge that now has soldiers guarding it, and constructed ramshackle shelters outside the bridge. As the war continued, more and more refugees from Cinderdale would settle here in what became a growing village. After the walls around [[Sigmund's Sinkhole]] (as well as much of the village itself) were burnt down, defenses once again heightened and more soldiers were sent to guard the bridge and the village. A stone wall was constructed around the growing settlement.
