Whoever says hobgoblins are loyal or good soldiers or whatever was lying. The one I captured cracked after only a few hours. They took the stuff back to their boss, some intimidating figure they know only as "[[Aldis]]". Next thing he tells me is that this Aldis is a goblin. And I know enough that hobgoblins would never work for goblins, and that goblins aren't smart enough to know what to do with this stuff. So my guess is that Aldis either isn't really a goblin, or himself is working for someone. Either way, he lives in some mansion north of [[Olfenwood]]. So that's where I'm off to now. I just finished setting up camp for the night and should be there in a few days. Gods, I hate the [[Tangled Road]].

Woke up to some massive cunt in a heavy suit of armor standing over me. Fuckin creepy, but like fuck if I'd ever say that to their face. Claim their name is "[[Virtue]]". Yeah, right! But it turns out they're looking for [[Staff of Worlds|the staff]], too, so we formed a bit of an "alliance". Admittedly it's always a better idea to go in with a partner, but if they think for a second I'm giving up the staff they're having a fuckin laugh. I'd cut down anyone in my path to get that gods damn thing back. But right now this tall fella managed to hire a carriage that was willing to travel the Tangled Road (and let me tell ya—it's quite the unique carriage, but more on that later) so now I'm riding in style, and we should be in Olfenwood by the morning.

In Olfenwood. This Virtue character really knows what they're doing. Maybe they'd like to quit workin for this "[[Mr. Blackmore]]" and come be a merc with me, eh? But the priority is still the staff. Asked some locals about the mansion. Burned down years ago, but recently hobgoblins have been spotted in the area. Seems like our place. No roads leading to it so no more carriage. But it's close. After months of searching, the staff is almost in my hands.

Aw, hell, this is gonna be my last entry. This is gonna be one of those things where a hundred years later some punk asshole like me stumbles upon my corpse and finds this fuckin journal, isn't it? We got to the mansion—or the basement that was left of it—but it's a fuckin deathtrap. There's a part there that's a big... maze. Something in it hit me hard, with a big fuckin axe. Damn does it hurt. Managed to crawl to a safe spot but I 'm not making it out of here. Still haven't seen the staff or this "Aldis". This entire thing was a fuckin failure, and I'm gonna die. I'm with me the knowledge of what this staff can do. If you're reading this, I want you to do me a favor. A dying fuckin wish. Kill the motherfucker who took the staff. Nobody deserves that thing but me.
