Arpaton Circle of Magic, also known as Arpaton City Wizard's Academy, was one of the foremost schools for training wizards. It is located in Arpaton City and is currently run by the Thenalion Empire.

The school was founded by Aganazzar Arpaton in 921 ADW. Its initial purpose was to train wizards to aid in the resistance against Shogrush. After Shogrush's defeat, being seen as having a part in that defeat was very good for the small mage school, which began to grow. In order to remain independent, Arpaton Academy agreed to the Thenalion Empire's claim to the small fishing village the school was founded in. The village was a foothold for the Empire in its region, and the academy's reputation and attendance grew. The village grew into a large port city and was named Arpaton City.

The Stank Bitches first visited the academy in a rush to teleport to Allum to save Corrin Allum from his infernal influence. Here Ygrid Ironborn joined the party. On the party's next visit, they aided the school with a slaad problem, where a rift to the plane of Limbo was opened in the academy's conjuration tower. After resolving this, Dea was named head archmage. The Stank Bitches later returned to the academy when Alison and her undead army began their conquest and the academy became one of few safe bastions. They stayed here while hunting down Alison's phylacteries and planning the assault on her tower.

After reforming Jixaron, Dea took as much funds out of the academy as she could before giving naming Grubble the head archmage, selling the academy to the Thenalion Empire, and leaving with much of the academy's staff for Jixaron. The funds from this sale were given to Jotunrath to help rebuild after the Seven Year War.

The wealthy Mathesen family was then put in charge of the school.
