Meadowcraft, also known as the City of Opportunity or Crown of the West, is the Capitol of the Human Kingdom and has a population of roughly 25,000 people. Meadowcraft is one of the most important and influential cities in the the Human Kingdom. Meadowcraft was named for its outstanding access to natural resources, whether it be water, wood, or ore. A perfect settlement when it was first erected. The city that grew up at this site became the commercial crossroads of the western regions of the Alliance. Meadowcraft is a city where adventurers, farmers, blacksmiths, and nobles alike can live in relative piece and make a life for themselves. Whether you're looking to train at the College of Meadowcraft or kick your feet up and have an ale at the historic Heroes Rest Tavern. There's something for everyone at Meadowcraft.

Government

Meadowcraft is ruled through a Monarchy, where the Tyrell family lineage, founders of the city, rule from father to child. In one rare instance, King Justin Tyrell was at an impasse as to whether to choose his second oldest son, Alexius, or his military advisor Loghain Bradley as his successor after his oldest son died in the Seven Year War. Post Age of Heroes, Alexius Tyrell rules Meadowcraft.

Defenses

Meadowcraft is surrounded by four massive stone walls, each equipped with battlements where a multitude of anti-siege equipment is perched. Meadowcraft is also home to the Crimson Lance, a joint-operations counter-terrorism unit known for its inclusive training program and maneuverability between roles. Inside the city, City-Guard man garrisons, road patrols, and watchposts.

Notable Locations

The College of Meadowcraft The pinnacle of affordable, high-level education in the Human Kingdom. The College of Meadowcraft was founded by Gareth Zighern and Ashley Welkot, two high-wizards from Val-Adin who wanted to bring higher learning to Meadowcraft. The college offers a number of classes in arcane, literary, and historical studies. The brightest minds of the Human Kingdom teach the next generation of Supreme Wizards and inventors.

The Heroes Rest Tavern The first adventurers made taverns their go-to spots to unwind, have an ale, or find their next job. As far back as you can read, adventuring parties met, were founded in, or killed rats...in taverns. The Heroes Rest became a hot spot for famous adventuring parties like the Lamplighters, the Hellfire Hounds, and the Steel Hydras to kick off their boots, set down their weapons, and turn in for a cozy night of drinking, food, and song. The tavern sat just off the city's center, making it just a short walk from any entrance into the city. Affordable food, a warm atmosphere, the tavern had it all. Famous adventuring parties and adventurers had their portraits drawn, signed, and hanged on the walls of the tavern. After the Sankofa Accord, the Heroes Rest was all but in danger of being foreclosed. A tavern dedicated to the once-heroes now turned power-hungry egomaniacs, wasn't welcome in the city. So owner Harry Greene and his daughters, Barda and Ramona, removed the illustrations and dedications to adventuring parties, settling for a more neutral tavern. Since the events of Caelrogh's invasion, the Heroes Rest has become the headquarters for Croak and Dagger.

The Rose Gardens The beautiful botanical gardens of Lady Cassandra Castille, who was still Cassandra Bullmore during the garden's creation. Lady Cassandra's mother, the Rose Queen, was a diplomat from oversees who ruled the then independent kingdom of Forestead. They purchased a large estate in Meadowcraft where they could stay when they traveled from Forestead for meetings with King Justin. To make herself feel more at home, the Rose Queen hired servants to plant and tend to a large garden lush with exotic plants one couldn't find in the Human Kingdom. Lady Cassandra decided to tend to the garden herself as an escape from the noise of and pressure of a noble. Visitors and suitors alike found Lady Cassandra watering and trimming her plants, her favorite being the rare orange and purple-petalled Dawn Lily. After Lady Cassandra's death, hired federal servants and avid botanists continue to tend to the Rose Gardens where visitors are free to browse and wander the rows.
