The Maelstrom Empire, or First Kingdom, was a kingdom that existed where much of the Kingdom of Goldmask is today.
The capital city of the empire was Stormcastle, and stood where New Stormcastle now stands. The city of Waterdeep was part of the Maelstrom Empire, which stood where Drain is today.
The king of the Maelstrom Empire held the title of Lord of Stormcastle and wore the Belt of Stormcastle.
